10. Disconnect the FDAMS DFDAU PDL Interface cable assembly and data loader from the
FDAMS.
11. Repeat section 3.4 (above) to verify the proper database was loaded.
4.0 Flight Data Recorder System - Operational Test
General
This procedure is an operational test of the flight data recorder system. The operational test makes
sure the switches for the manual and automatic power sources operate correctly. A BITE test is
also included in this operational test. No test equipment is necessary. Procedures contained in the
aircraft maintenance manual may be substituted for any portion of this test, as
appropriate.References

4.1 Prepare for the Test
1. Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
2. Make sure these circuit breakers are closed on the overhead equipment panel P11 as applicable:
J2, EICAS CMPTR LEFT
J3, EICAS UPPER DISPLAY
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8, FLIGHT RECORDER DC
J29, EICAS CMPTR RIGHT
J30, EICAS LOWER DISPLAY
J31, EICAS DISPLAY SW
J32, EICAS PILOTS DISPLAY
S1, AIDS SENSOR
S15, AIR/GND SYS 1
S19, AIR/GND SYS 2
3. Open these circuit breakers and attach .DO NOT CLOSE. tags:
On the miscellaneous equipment panel P6:
E1, FUEL VALVES L SPAR
E2, FUEL VALVES R SPAR
On the overhead equipment panel P11:
D19, ENGINE START CONT LEFT
D20, ENGINE START CONT RIGHT
4.2 Flight Recorder Control Panel (FRCP) Test
1. Make sure the function switch on the FRCP is in the NORM position.
2. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP is on.
3. Push and hold the function switch on the FRCP in the TEST position. Make sure the OFF light
goes off.
4. Set the FRCP function switch in the ON position. Make sure the OFF light stays off.
NOTE: The OFF light will come on momentarily when you turn the function switch from the
TEST position to the ON position.
5. Set the function switch to the NORM position.
4.3 Air/Ground Switch Test
WARNING: PREPARE THE SAFETY-SENSITIVE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIR MODE
BEFORE YOU OPEN THE AIR/GROUND CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IN THE AIR MODE,
MANY OF THE AIRPLANE SYSTEMS CAN OPERATE AND CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
1. Prepare the safety-sensitive systems for air mode simulation (AMM 32-09-02/201).
2. Open these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
C19, LANDING GEAR POS SYS 2 ALTN
S19, AIR/GND SYS 2

3. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP goes off.
4. Close these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
C19, LANDING GEAR POS SYS 2 ALTN
S19, AIR/GND SYS 2
5. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP comes on.
6. Put the safety-sensitive systems back to their initial conditions (AMM 32-09-02/201).
4.4 Engine Automatic Switch Test
1. Open these circuit breakers and attach .DO NOT CLOSE. tags on the overhead equipment panel
P11:
D7, ENGINES STBY IGNITION LEFT 1
D8, ENGINES STBY IGNITION LEFT 2
D9, ENGINES SYBY IGNITION RIGHT 1
D10, ENGINES STBY IGNITION RIGHT 2
D20, BATTERY POWER ENGINE START CONT, R
L1, LEFT ENGINE IGN 1
L28, RIGHT ENGINE IGN 1
2. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close:
On the Overhead P11 Panel:
D19, ENGINE START CONT LEFT
On the Misc Equipment Panel P6, as applicable:
C2, FUEL COND CONT, R
3. Make sure the L and R FUEL CONT switches on the control stand are in the CUTOFF position.
4. Make sure the function switch on the FRCP is in the NORM position and that the OFF light on
the FRCP is on.
5. On the pilots overhead panel, set the left engine start switch on the engine start/RAT control
panel to the GND position. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP goes off.
6. Set the left engine start switch to the AUTO position. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP
comes on.
7. Open this circuit breaker and attach a .DO NOT CLOSE. tag on the P6 panel:
C1, FUEL COND CONT L
8. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP goes off.
9. Open this circuit breaker and attach a .DO NOT CLOSE. tag on the P11 panel:
D19, ENGINE START CONT LEFT
10. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
D20, ENGINE START CONT RIGHT
11. Make sure the L and R FUEL CONT switch is set to the CUTOFF position.
12. At the pilots overhead panel, set the right engine start switch on the engine start/ RAT control
