(c) If the clearance "B" and "C" are not in the limits, adjust them as follows:
1 Remove the adjustment screws (3) from the upper hinge of the
_
cockpit door (2).
2 Apply a layer of the BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material
_ No. 08-007) on the screws (3) and install them in the upper hinge of the cockpit door (2).
3 Prepare the area of the lower hinge (7) as follows:
_ a Remove the nylon tape with the old sealant from the area
_
around the lower hinge (7).
b Use a lint-free cloth, MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003)
_ and the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean the lower hinge (7) and the adjacent area.
4 Remove the screws (6) of the lower hinge (7).
_
5 Apply a layer of the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002)
_ on the screws (6) and install them in the lower hinge (7).
6 Move the cockpit door (2) until the the lateral clearances "B"
_
and "C" are correct.
7 TORQUE the screws (3) of the upper hinge to 1.0 m.daN (88.49
_
lbf.in).
8 Tighten the screws (6) of the lower hinge (7).

1CES 1 9 Prepare the base around the lower hinge (7) as follows:
_ a Put the nylon tape MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-002)
_ around the base of the lower hinge (7) and make a loop on its end.
NOTE : This will help to make the subsequent reomval

easier.
b Apply a layer of the SEALANTS (Material No. 09-036) to fill
_ the remaining gap around the lower hinge (7).
(4) Measure the clearance "F" between the cockpit door (2) and the safety angle (13).
NOTE : The clearance "F" must be between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and 2.5
____
mm (0.0984 in.).
(5) If the clearance "F" is not correct, adjust it as follows: WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE

USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES AND GOGGLES.
(a)
Remove the screws (11) from the structure fitting (8).
(b)
Put the required quantity of shims (10) between the cockpit door
(2) and the structure fitting (8) until the clearances are correct.
NOTE : The recommended shims (standard washers P/N LN65045-08)
____ have a thickness of 1.6 mm (0.0629 in.) and only a maximum of three shims (max. thickness of 4.8 mm (0.1889 in.)) is permitted.
(c)
Apply a layer of the BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-004) on the screws (11).
(d)
Install the screws (11) in the structure fitting (8) and tighten them.
(6) Measure the clearance "G" between the cockpit door (2) and the safety angle (14)
NOTE : The clearance "G" must be less than 1.0 mm (0.0393 in.).
____ The top of the cockpit door (2) must always touch the safety angle (14) during this measurement.

B. Adjustment of the Electrical Release Strikes: (Ref. Fig. 504/TASK 52-51-00-991-003, 505/TASK 52-51-00-991-004, 506/TASK 52-51-00-991-005)
NOTE : The subsequent adjustment is only possible, when the nose of the

electrical-release strike housing has been reworked.
(1)
If it is necessary to rework the nose of the housing (16), refer to Fig.503. Then apply a layer of PRETREATMENT FOR PAINTING (Material No. 13-002) to the reworked surface.
(2)
Get access to the upper, center and lower electrical release strikes as follows:
(a)
Open the cockpit door (2).
(b)
Remove the screws (19) and the safety angle (14) from the lavatory wall (15).
(c)
Remove the screws (18) and the covers (17) from the housings (16).
(d)
Temporarily install the safety angle (14) with the screws (19) on the lavatory wall (15).
