Dry the damaged area with a clean cloth before the solvent dries.

Apply one layer of the 3-inch wide tape to the crack in the duct.

 NOTE: The tape must make a 1-inch overlap around the crack.

 ú  (2)  Open the forward cargo compartment door.

 ú  (3)  Remove all items necessary to get access to the duct.

 ú  (4)  If required, remove the fasteners, jumper assembly (if installed)
 ú  and clamps that attach the duct to the passenger cabin floor beams.

 ú  (5)  Remove the insulation that covers the duct joint.

 ú  (6)  Do these steps to repair the duct joint:
 ú  (a) Remove the tape from the joint.
 ú  (b) Use the solvent to remove all traces of the adhesive from the
 ú  tape.
 ú  (c) Remove all traces of the solvent with the wipers.
 ú  (d) Apply two laps of the tape to the center of the joint.
 ú  1) Pull the tape tight and smooth as you apply it.
