 (1)  Prepare the work area for the installation of the generator.
 (a)  
Remove the cooling air crossover duct support bracket from the generator.

 (b)  
Install the support bracket for the cooling air crossover duct that you removed from the generator.

 (c)  
Remove the electrical harness from the used generator. 1) Remove the terminal covers.

 (d)  
Tag the terminal wires.

 NOTE: The terminal wires must be tagged for positive
____ identification when you install them.
 (e)  Remove the generator terminals.
 NOTE: Make sure you monitor the terminal, the plain washer,
____ and the assembly position of the lock washer.
 (f)  
Remove the exciter terminals.

 (g)  
Remove these as one assembly with the wires connected:

 NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the wire connections on
____ the current transformer from the transformers or the ground bus bar angle. The generator control connector you can move apart to give more space. Make sure you tag the current transformer wires for positive identification before you remove the wires.
 1) The current transformer mount
 2) The current transformer
 3) The ground bus bar angle.

 (h)  
Install the electrical harness and terminal covers on the serviceable generator: 1) Install these parts:

 a) The current transformer mount b) The current transformer c) The ground bus bar angle

 (i)  
Connect these wires:
 1) The exciter wires

 2) The generator wires
 (j)  Examine these for the correct installation:
 NOTE: Make sure that the location of each wire and the
____
 terminal build-up is correct.

 1) The terminal end 2) The plain washer 3) The lockwasher 4) The nuts 5) Tighten the nuts on the exciter wire terminals to 20-25
 in-lbs. 6) Tighten the nuts on the generator wire terminals to 115-125 in-lbs.
 (k)  
Install the terminal covers on the generator.

 (l)  
Lubricate the generator drive spline with a large quantity of the anti-fretting compound.

 NOTE: Make sure there is no separation of the compound before
____ you apply the anti-fretting compound. Mix the compound if separation of the compound occurred.
 (m)  Move the clock index mark from the removed generator mount stud hole to the same stud hole on the serviceable generator.

 (2)  Install the APU ac generator.
 (a)  
Find the clock index mark on the APU generator flange and the serviceable generator mounting stud hole.

 WARNING:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE APU GENERATOR. BECAUSE THE APU WEIGHS 90 POUNDS, INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR CAN OCCUR.

 (b)  
Put the generator in a position until these index marks align: 1) Generator flange holes 2) APU studs 3) Drive splines

 (c)  
Put the generator flange against the APU flange.

 (d)  
Turn the generator until the stud shanks go into the slots in the generator mounting flange.

 (e)  
Tighten the nuts on the generator mounting stud to 160-190 pound-inches.

 S 414-014
 (3)  Install the cooling air crossover duct.
 (a)  Put the duct on the aft support bracket.
 NOTE: Do not install the clamp.

 (b)  Install the cooling air crossover duct. 1) Install the rubber sleeves below the crossover duct split flanges.
