 (5)  
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the main battery.

 (a)  
Remove the sealing wire from the connector knob.

 (b)  
Turn the knob on the main battery connector (D44) counterclockwise until the connector is free from the main battery receptacle.

 (c)  
Disconnect the electrical connector (D2936) from the main battery receptacle.

 E.  Main Battery Connector Examination
 S 766-007
 (1)  Check the battery sensor connector as follows:
 (a)  If any of the following is found, repair or replace the connector. 1) Corrosion or pitting of the contacts. 2) Burn marks on the contacts. 3) Bent or pushed back contacts. 4) Damage or corosion to the connector body.
 S 766-008
 (2)  Check the battery power connector as follows:
 (a)  
Remove the two (2) bolts that hold the connector together.

 (b)  
If any of the following conditions are found, replace the main battery connector. 1) Corrosion and pitting of the power contacts or terminal lug

 mating surfaces . 2) Excessive free play or broken pins on the handwheel-worm assembly. 3) Burn marks on the power contacts, terminal lug contact bar mating surfaces or terminal stud.

 (c)  
Check the resiliency of the battery connector power contactor as follows: 1) Put the .385 end of the tool into the power contact.

 a)  Make sure the fit is snug and it requires a (1) one pound force to remove the tool.
 NOTE: Attach the force gage through the hole in the
____ tool.

 (d)  Check the ability for the power contact to mate with a worn or undersize pin. 1) Insert the 0.370 end of the tool in the power contact. a) Make sure the fit is snug and it requires a (1) one pound force to remove the tool.
 NOTE: Attach the force gage through the hole in the____ tool.
 (e)  Check the contact bar as follows: 1) If the contact bar is held on with a screw, make sure the screw is tight and the contact bar is tight.
 NOTE: Use the standard torque values for the screw____ (AMM 20-50-11/201).
 2) If the contact bar is held with a rivet, make sure the contact bar can not be removed from the connector.
 NOTE: The contact bar is loose on the connector.____
 (f)  If the terminal lug or stud is damaged, deformed, discolored or annealed, repair or replaced the terminal lug (SWPM 20-30-00).
 NOTE: If the terminal lug is annealed, use a high temperature____ terminal lug to replace the lug (SWPM 20-30-11).
 (g)  Make sure the terminal nuts are tight.
 NOTE: Use the standard torque values for the terminal nut____ (AMM 20-50-11/201).
 NOTE: Do not pull or move the wires after the terminal nut is____ tightened.
 (h)  Put the connector togerther and install the two (2) bolts.
 NOTE: Use the standard torque values for the bolts____ (AMM 20-50-11/201).
 (i) (j)  Make sure the wires are centered in the connector openings.Connect the battery sensor connector (D2936) to the battery.

 (k)  Put the main battery connector into the main battery receptacle on the main battery. 1) Turn the knob on the connector clockwise with your hand
 until it is tight.
 2)  Attach the sealing wire from the main battery power connector knob to one of the connector bolts. Use the double twist method.
 NOTE: Sealing wire is 0.020 copper wire.

 (a)  On the P18-5 panel:
 1) C22, HOT BATTERY BUS
