 (4)  If necessary, for the system B EMDP, do the steps that follow to remove the filter module from the airplane.
 (a)  
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the case drain filter. 1) Put caps on the hydraulic lines.

 (b)  
Remove the bolts that attach the case drain filter to the airplane. 1) Remove the case drain filter.

 NOTE: Remove the filter element with the filter bowl.

Remove the filter element from the filter bowl.

Look for metal contamination on the filter element and in the filter bowl. If you find metal contamination, replace the EMDP (AMM 29-15-22/401).

 (1)  If you get hydraulic fluid on the airplane, clean it off (AMM 12-40-00/201).

Lubricate and install the two backup rings, and the O-ring in the filter head.

Lubricate and install the O-ring in the filter element.

Put the filter element in the filter bowl.

 (4)  
Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl with assembly lube or hydraulic fluid.

Position the filter bowl and filter element under the filter module. Raise the filter element from the filter bowl and press it onto the filter module outlet.

Install the filter bowl on the filter head and tighten it to 96-120 pound-inches.

If it was necessary to remove the filter module for the system B EMDP, do the steps that follow to install the filter module on the airplane.

 (a)  
Lubricate the O-rings and the threaded fittings with assembly lube or hydraulic fluid.

 (b)  
Install the o-ring and the union in the inlet port of the case drain filter.

 (c)  
Install the o-ring and the check valve in the outlet port of the case drain filter.
