Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left
 1) RIGHT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
 2) LEFT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS

 (3)  
Remove the screws and pull off the tail cone.

 (4)  
Remove the outboard landing light.

 NOTE: Get access to the top of the light through the opening in
____
 the aft end of the fairing.

 (a)  
Disconnect the connector from the top of the light assembly.

 (b)  
Remove the bolt that secures the indexing rod to the actuating arm.

 (c)  
Disconnect the indexing rod from the actuating arm.

Remove the retaining screws around the light assembly.

 (e)  
Remove the retaining screws that hold the ac motor.

 (f)  
Remove the light assembly.

 (1)  Location Zone 307 Left Wing Trailing Edge, Outboard Flap and Spoilers 407 Right Wing Trailing Edge, Outboard Flap and Spoilers
 C.  Procedure
 S 424-005
 (1)  Install the outboard landing light.
 (a)  
Put the light assembly in its position and install the retainer screws.

 (b)  
Install the retaining screws that hold the ac motor.

 (c)  
Connect the indexing rod to the actuating arm.

 (d)  
Install the bolt to secure the indexing rod to the actuating arm.

 (e)  
Install the connector at the top of the light assembly.

 (f)  
Make sure the light adjustment is correct (Ref 33-42-11/501).

 (2)  
Install the flap tail cone with the screws.

 S 714-006

 (3)  
Do a test of the outboard landing lights.

 (a)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 1)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left a) RIGHT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS b) LEFT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS

 (c)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches on the overhead panel, P5, to ON. 1) Make sure the two lights extend and come on.

 (d)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches on the P5 panel to the RETRACT position. 1) Make sure the two lights go off and retract fully.
