 (3) Permit the unwanted cleaning solvent to drain from the parts. Use a
 compressed air sorce to dry the parts.
 (a) Make sure the parts are free of contamination.

 (4) Apply the activator on the sleeve and in the shaft bore.
 (a) Permit the activator to dry for five minutes at ambient
 temperature.

 (5) Lightly apply the adhesive to the shaft bore and quickly install the
 sleeve in the shaft bore until it touches the bottom of the bore.
 (a) Remove the unwanted adhesive from the inner diameter of the
 sleeve.

 (6) To let the adhesive cure, make the shaft and the retainer hot with a
 heat gun for 10 minutes.

ACCESSORY GEARBOX - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The accessory gearbox (AGB) assembly is mounted on the left side of fan frame (Fig. 1). It consists of a gearbox housing and a gear train that reduces and increases rotational speed to meet the specific drive requirements of each accessory. Certain of the accessories are installed on the AGB through quick attach/detach (QAD) rings.
 2.  Accessory Gearbox Housing (Fig. 1 and 2)

 A.  The AGB housing is an aluminum alloy casting. It is mounted on the left side of fan frame through four clevis mounts (two lateral, one upper, one lower). A fifth lateral outer mount enables AGB adjustment according to the X axis for AGB/TGB coupling.
 B.  The AGB housing front face has mounting pads for the following
 accessories:

Hydraulic pump

 (2)  
Generator Drive and AC generator

 (3)  
Starter

 (4)  
N2 Control alternator

 C.  The AGB housing rear face connects with the horizontal drive shaft housing, and has mounting pads for the following accessories:
 (1)  
Lubrication unit

 (2)  
Fuel pump and main engine control (MEC)

 D.  In addition, the AGB housing supports the main scavenge filter.
 3.  Gear Train (Fig. 2)

 A.  The gear train is contained within the AGB housing and drives the accessories.
 B.  Each gear and its bearings and bearing support is a plug-in type
 assembly.

 C.  Sealing is ensured by either a magnetic seal or a Sealol seal.
 (1)  
The magnetic seal consists of a nonmagnetic seal housing, a magnetic seal with a glazed face, and a carbon seal held by a magnet on the rotating part. The pull of the magnet maintains constant contact with the magnetic seal glazed seal face.
