There is no limit on the quantity of nicks and dents on the trailing edge if not more than 0.015 inch (0.3 mm) in depth.There is no limit on the quantity of nicks, dents and scratches on the contour surface as follows: a) The damage is not more than 0.005 inch (0.1 mm) in
 depth. b) The scratches are not more than 0.4 inch (10.0 mm) in
 length.Nicks, dents and scratches on the mid-span shroud to airfoil fillet are not serviceable.Mid-span shroud (does not include fillet): a) There is no limit on the quantity of pits if not more
 than 0.005 inch (0.1 mm) in depth. b) There is no limit on the quantity of nicks, dents and scratches as follows:
 1.  The nicks and dents are not more than 0.01 inch

 (0.2 mm) in depth.
 2.  A 50 cycle maximum service extension is permitted
_
 if the nicks, dents and sheared edges are not more
 than 0.035 inch (0.9 mm) in depth.

 c)  There is no limit on the quantity of wear because of shingling if not more than 0.005 inch (0.1 mm) in depth after the removal of high metal.
 d)  No more than 10% of the hardcoat can be flaked off.
 1.  
A 250 cycle maximum service extension is permitted

 if no more than 25% of the coating is missing.

 2.  
A 50 cycle maximum service extension is permitted

_ if no more than 40% of the coating is missing. e) Flaking of the aluminum coating

Use the tool, 856A3629 to make sure the aluminum

 coating at the end of the convex side of the
 37-degree mid-span shroud is in the limits
 (Fig. 604).

If the damage is more than the limits, replace the

 fan blade (AMM 72-31-02/401).Cracks or tears on the Area C are not serviceable.If there is distortion in Area C, the limits are as follows:
 NOTE: To find if a fan blade has distortion, compare it to
____ the other blades from the rotor.
 The trailing edge contour in this area can change because of the forging process. This is permitted. Examine for distortion because of FOD or birdstrikes.
 a)  No more than 0.34 inch (8.0 mm) out of contour in two locations.
