 CAUTION: DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOOT ON THE STOP MECHANISM WHILE YOU
_______ COMPRESS THE MAIN FLEXIBLE SHAFT.
 (4)  Push and hold the main flexible shaft into the stop mechanism of the bleed valve and the fuel gear motor.
 NOTE: To do this, use a hexagonal Allen wrench (5/64 inch across
____ the flats). While you use the wrench, put the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator against the stop mechanism.

Release the main flexible shaft so that it engages into the housing of the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator.

Install the two mounting screws that attach the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator to the 9 o'clock strut.

Tighten by hand the two mounting screws that attach the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator to the 9 o'clock strut.

Tighten by hand the four main captive bolts that attach the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator to the fan frame.

 NOTE: Do not lubricate the bolt threads.

 Tighten the two mounting screws to 25-35 pound-inches (2.8-4.0 Newton meters).

 Tighten the two horizontal bolts to 70-90 pound-inches (8-10.0 Newton meters).

 ON ENGINES WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-580; do a check of the position of the bleed valve door (Fig. 402).

 (a)  Install the setting yoke on the VBV door as follows:
 1) Before you install the setting yoke, use the master gage to
 make sure that the yoke is set correctly.
 a) If it is not set correctly, adjust it.
 2) Put the yoke trunnions in the door holes.
 3) Attach the hook on the bleed valve housing.
 (b)  Disengage the main flexible shaft.
 (c)  Turn the VBV control drive of the bleed valve and master
 ballscrew actuator.
 NOTE: Use the dual purpose ratchet wrench to get clearances____
 between the components that follow:
 - the door and pusher
 - the yoke ends and the fan frame.
 The maximum clearance permitted at one of these
 positions is 0.02 inch (0.50 mm).
 (d)  If it is necessary to get access to the adjacent ballscrew
 actuators, remove the adjacent fan duct panel
 (AMM 72-33-03/401).
 (e)  Do a check of the adjacent bleed valve and ballscrew actuators
 for the correct closed position.
 NOTE: Use the setting yoke. If it is necessary, adjust the____
 VBV door position. Use a dual purpose ratchet wrench.

 (14) ON ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-580; do these steps to do a rigging of the VBV door (Fig. 403).
 (a)  
Turn the VBV drive shaft, to close the VBV door.

 1)  Make sure the inner face of the VBV door touches the scoop installed in the fan frame.

 (b)  
Open the VBV door with a 1/8 turn on the drive shaft of the VBV door.
