 1)  Use the dual purpose ratchet wrench, to remove all the
 clearance between the door and the pusher, and between the
 yoke ends and the fan frame.
 NOTE:____ The maximum clearance permitted at these positions
 is 0.02 inch (0.5 mm).
 (d)  Remove the fan duct panels to get access to the adjacent
 ballscrew actuators (AMM 72-33-03/401).
 (e)  Do a check of the adjacent bleed valve and ballscrew actuators
 for the correct closed position.
 NOTE:____ Use the setting yoke.  If it is necessary, adjust the
 VBV door position.  Use a dual purpose ratchet wrench.

 (9)  ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 72-580; Do these steps to do a rigging of the VBV door (Fig. 402).
 (a)  
Turn the VBV drive shaft, to close the VBV door.

 1)  Make sure the inner face of the VBV door touches the scoop installed in the fan frame.

 (b)  
Open the VBV door with a 1/8 turn on the drive shaft of the VBV door.

 (10) Install and engage the flexible shafts on each side of the master ballscrew actuator.
 (a)  
Put the spring hexagonal end of the flexible shaft in position.

 (b)  
Compress the spring hexagonal end of the flexible shaft at the end away from the actuator (upper shaft) and the actuator end (lower shaft).

 NOTE: Look for the best position of the splined ends of the
____ VBV flexible shaft. Do not move an adjusted door to install the flexible shaft into the adjacent door.

(c)  Engage the 8-point fitting at the opposite end.

 Engage the main flexible shaft.

 Connect the VBV feedback rod on the feedback lever for the door position as follows:

 (a)  Put the clevis in position on the feedback lever.
 (b)  Lubricate the bolt threads with grease.
 (c)  Install the bolt, washer and slotted nut.
 (d)  Tighten the slotted nut, while you align the nut slot with the
 cotter pin hole.
 NOTE:____ Replace the nut if you cannot get the minimum torque
 value or get more than the maximum torque value.
 (e)  Install the cotter pin on the two sides of the nut.
 (f)  Bend the cotter pin on the two sides of the nut.

 (13) Do an operational check.
 (a)  
Operate the VBV system to the open and then the closed positions (AMM 75-32-00/201 [External Pressure Source]). 1) Do a check for correct operation.

 (b)  
Make sure all of the doors move at the same time.

 NOTE: Make sure all of the doors are correctly engaged in the
____ closed position. Adjust all of the doors.

 Install the fan duct panels (AMM 72-33-03/401).

 Close the thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).
