 F. Test Of The Standby ILS Display Function

 (1)  
Operate the central maintenance computer (CMC) from the left CDU (AMM 45-10-00/501).

Tune to an ILS frequency (Ref 34-31-00/501).

Set the mode selector switch on the standby attitude/ILS indicator to APP.

Do a left ILS receiver ground test from the CDU (Ref 34-31-00/501).

 (a)  Look at the standby attitude/ILS indicator and make sure that these indications occur: 1) The G/P and LAT flags are in view for approximately 3
 seconds.

 2)  The G/P and LAT flags retract from view for approximately 2 seconds.
 3)  The lateral deviation bar moves to 1 mark to the left side of the center for approximately 3 seconds. At the same time, the vertical (glide path) deviation bar moves to 1 mark above the center.
 4) The deviation bars move to 1 mark down and 1 mark to the right side of the center until the end of the test. 5) Make sure that the CDU shows PASS.

Set the mode selector switch to B/CRS.

Do a left ILS receiver ground test from the CDU (Ref 34-31-00/501).

 (a)  Look at the standby attitude/ILS indicator and make sure that these indications occur: 1) The G/P and LAT flags are in view for approximately 3
 seconds.
 2)  The G/P and LAT flags retract from view for approximately 2 seconds.
 3)  The lateral deviation bar moves to 1 mark to the right side of the center for approximately 3 seconds. At the same time, the vertical (glide path) deviation bar moves to 1 mark above the center.
 4)  The deviation bars move to 1 mark down and 1 mark to the left side of the center until the end of the test. 5) Make sure that the CDU shows PASS.

 (7)  Set the mode selector switch to OFF and make sure that these indications occur:
 (a)  
The G/P and the LAT flags are out of view.

 (b)  
The vertical and lateral deviation bars retract from view.
