(c) Thoroughly dry the sealing surfaces.
 (3) Inspection of the Duct and Sleeve Sealing Surfaces
 (a) Make sure that the seal contact surfaces of the items which follow are free from distortion, scratches and blemishes: - the duct (15), - the flanges (4), (10), (17), (70), (76), - the pipe assembly (91) and, - all other related seal contact areas.
 (b) Make sure that the seal location grooves in the sleeves (3), (16), (72), (77), (79) and (88) are not damaged or distorted. 
R  (4) Lubricate the new seals as necessary: 
R R R NOTE : It is not necessary to lubricate the seals with part numbers____ from the ABS1040 series. 
(a) Apply a small quantity of: - COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-007) or - LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-007) to:
 NOTE : The material 04-007 is a molybdenum disulfide powder.____ Before you can apply it you must first make it into a paste. To do this you must mix the powder with pure water or white spirit.
 NOTE : The material 06-007 is applied dry.____
 1_ the new seal (87) and,
 2_ the new seal (71) and,
 3_  the new seal (77) and,
R  (5) Installation of the Seals (Silicon Type) 
R  (a) Carefully put the new seals in the sleeves as follows:
 1_ the seals (87) in the sleeve (88),
 2_  the seals (71) in the sleeve (72),

 3 the seals (77) in the sleeves (78) and (79) and,
_
R  (6) Installation of the Seals (PTFE Type) (Ref. TASK 20-26-00-910-002)
 (a) for the left main heat exchanger: - install the new seals (89) in the sleeve (3), - install the new seals (84) in the sleeve (15),
 (b) for the right main heat exchanger: - install the new seals (189) in the sleeve (3), - install the new seals (184) in the sleeve (15), 
R  (7) To Position Ducts, Pipe Assemblies and Sleeves
 NOTE : Turn the ducts, sleeves and pipe assemblies when you install____ them. This will help to prevent damage to the seals in the sleeves. 
R  (8) Put the sleeve (3) in position on the heat exchanger (7) and move it on the heat exchanger as far as it will go. 
R  (9) Put the sleeve (88) in position on the flange (4) and move it on the flange as far as it will go.
 (a) Put the duct (15) in position in the sleeve (16). 
R  (10) Put the sleeve (16) in position on the heat exchanger (7) and move it as far on the heat exchanger as it will go.
 (a) Put the sleeve (72) in position on the flange (70) and move it as far on the flange as it will go.
 (b) Put the sleeve (78) in position on the flange (76).
 (c) Put the pipe assembly (91) in position in the sleeve (78).
 (d) Apply a small quantity of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) to the contact faces of the retaining cables (92).
 (e) Make sure that the retaining cables (92) are in line with the holes in the flange (76) and: - install the new washers (73) and the new nuts (74).
 NOTE : Hold the hexagon part of the retaining cables (92) to____ prevent twisting of the cables when you install the nuts (74).

 (f) TORQUE the nuts (74) to between 0.85 and 1.0 m.daN (75.22 and
 88.49 lbf.in).
 NOTE : Hold the hexagon part of the retaining cables (92) to

____ prevent twisting of the cables when you torque the nuts (74). Make sure that there is no tension in the cables (92) and that the cables (92) are not twisted. This will give a safe and flexible connection.
 (g) Put the sleeve (79) in position on the pipe assembly (91) and move it as far on the pipe assembly as possible.

 C. Preparation for Installation
 (1) Prepare the attachment parts for installation,
 (a)
 Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

 (b)
 Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (c)
 Make sure that, 1 For the left heat exchanger unit (10HM4):

_
 -the seals (43) and (47) are in a good condition. 2 For the right heat exchanger unit (11HM4):
_ -the seals (143) and (147) are in a good condition.
 (d) If necessary replace the seals: 1 For the left heat exchanger unit (10HM4),
_ a The seals (43) and the seals (47).
_ 2 For the right heat exchanger unit (11HM4),
_ a The seals (143) and the seals (147).
_
 (e) Apply a small quantity of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) to the contact faces of the retaining cables (75) and (90).
