 B. Installation of the Manifold CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
 CAUTION : YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS

 LUBRICANT.

 (1)
 Remove the sealant from the mating surface of the manifold (35) and the aircraft structure with a plastic or wooden scraper.

 (2)
 Examine the structure of the aircraft in the area of the manifold attachment for cracks, corrosion or other damage.

 (3)
 Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the mating surface of the manifold (35).

 (4)
 Put the manifold (35) and the spacer (13) in position on the aircraft and install the four washers (12) and nuts (11). Do not tighten the nuts (11).

 Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe end-fittings and the unions on the manifold (35).

 (6)
 Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.

 (7)
 Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the threads of the
 pipe end-fittings.

 (8)
 Connect the pipe (25) to the union (27).

 (9)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (26) to between 9.7 and 10.7 m.daN (71.53 and 78.90 lbf.ft).

 Connect the pipe (21) to the union (23).

 (11)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (22) to between 2.9 and 3.2 m.daN (21.38 and 23.59 lbf.ft).

 Install the pipe (17) between the union (19) and the filter 2584GM.

 (13)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (18),(54) to between 5.4 and 5.9 m.daN

 (39.82 and 43.51 lbf.ft).

 (14)
 Connect the pipe (1) to the union (3).

 (15)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 7.5 and 8.3 m.daN (55.30 and 61.20 lbf.ft).

 (16)
 Install the pipe (32) between the union (43) and the check valve 1093GM.

 (17)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (33),(42) to between 7.5 and 8.3 m.daN

 (55.30 and 61.20 lbf.ft).

 (18)
 Install the pipe (7) between the unions (9),(41).

 (19)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (8),(40) to between 9.7 and 10.7 m.daN

 (71.53 and 78.90 lbf.ft).

 (20)
 TORQUE the nuts (11) to between 0.7 and 0.8 m.daN (61.94 and 70.79 lbf.in).

 (21)
 Connect the bonding jumper (51) to the structural attachment (52). Install the bolt (49), the washer (50) and the nut (53).

 Tighten the nut (53).

 Connect the bonding jumper (46) to the structural attachment (47). Install the bolt (44), the washer (45) and the nut (48).

 Tighten the nut (48).

 Seal the connections of the bonding jumpers (46),(51) with SEALANTS (Material No. 09-013).

 (26)
 Apply STRUCTURE PAINTS (Material No. 16-003) (dyed blue) to the sealant.

 (27)
 Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connections.

 (28)
 Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.

 (29)
 Connect the electrical connectors (29),(36) to the receptacles on the manifold (35).
