 A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

 B. Get Access
 (1)
 Put an access platform in position at the applicable cargo compartment door 825 or 826.

 (2)
 Open the applicable cargo compartment door 825 or 826 to get access to the door threshold (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

 (3)
 Remove the access panel(s) 825AR and/or 826AR to remove the handle flap.

 (4)
 Close the applicable cargo compartment door. NOTE : One person must be inside the cargo compartment to do the

____ adjustment test of the proximity switch.

 A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
 WARNING : DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.

 (1)
 Make sure that the cargo compartment door is correctly locked with the locking handle in the recess of the handle flap.

 (2)
 Measure the clearance J2 between the target (1) and the proximity sensor (2).

 -The clearance must be J2 1.8 -0.20 +0.20 mm (0.0708 -0.0078 +0.0078 in.).

 (3)
 If the clearance is not in the tolerances adjust as follows:

 (a)
 Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the proximity switch (1).

 (b)
 Install blanking cap on the electrical connector (1).

 (c)
 Change the position of the proximity sensor (2) and the target

 (1) as necessary.
 (4) Connect the electrical connector (3) of the proximity switch (2). **ON A/C 051-052,

R  (2) Measure the clearance J2 between the target (8) and the proximity 
R  sensor (3). 
R  - The clearance must be J2 1.8 -0.25 +0.25 mm (0.0708 -0.0098 +0.0098 
R  in.). 
R  (3) If the clearance is not in the tolerances adjust as follows: 
R  (a) Remove the screws (4) from the handle flap (6) and the door 
R  structure. 
R  (b) Pull the locking handle (5) away from the recess of the handle 
R  flap (6) but keep the cargo compartment door locked. 
R  (c) Remove the handle flap (6) from the door structure (Ref. TASK 52-
R  31-21-000-002). 
R  (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the proximity switch 
R  (3). 
R  (e) Install blanking cap on the electrical connector (1). 
R  (f) Remove the bolts (2), the proximity switch (3) and the shim set 
R  (7) from the door structure. 
R  (g) Adjust the thickness of the shim set (7) until the clearance J2 
R  is correct. 
R  (h) Put the bolts (2) and the shim set (7) on the proximity switch 
R  (3). 
R  (i) Put the proximity switch (3) in position and install the bolts 
R  (2) and tighten them.
