(b) Disconnect the bonding jumpers from the ground spoiler.
NOTE: The jumpers are installed adjacent to the inboard and
____ outboard hinge fittings.
(c)
Remove the four hinge bolts.
(d)
Remove the ground spoiler from the airplane.
NOTE: The ground spoiler weighs approximately 16 pounds.

(e) Remove the bearings from the inboard and the outboard hinge fittings.

If you will install a spoiler made of a different material than the spoiler you removed, you must change the airplane weight and balance data.

Install the ground spoiler (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the bearings in the inboard and outboard hinge fittings.
(b)
Put the spoiler in its position on the airplane.
(c)
Install the two center hinge bolts:
(d)
Install the bolts in the hinge fittings with the head as shown in Fig. 401.
(e)
Install the washers and nuts on the bolts.
(f)
Tighten the nuts to 240-350 pound-inches.
(g)
Install the cotter pins in the nuts.
(h)
Install the inboard and outboard hinge bolts:
1) Install the spacer on each side of the bearing.
NOTE: Make sure the flanged bushings are installed in the
____
hinge fitting.
2) Put the bearing in its position and align the clevis. 3) Install the bolts with their heads outboard. 4) Install the washers and the nuts on the bolts. 5) Tighten the nuts to 100-140 pound-inches. 6) Install the cotter pins in the nuts.
(i) Connect the bonding jumpers to the spoiler. 1) Clean the mating surfaces for the bonding jumpers. 2) If there is not a hole in the structure for the bonding
jumper, drill a hole in the lower part of the spoiler panel near the hinge fitting. a) Drill the hole 6.5 inches from the end of the spoiler
panel, 0.5 inch aft of the leading edge.
