Install the Leading Edge Slat Actuator

 NOTE: It is recommended to install a new actuator or an actuator that

 has a new rod end (SB 27A1211, SL 27-095).

Do a check of the worn areas if you install used bushings, bearings, and bolts (Ref 27-81-41/601).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
PTU circuit breakers C1081 and C1085.

 (3)  
Connect the hydraulic lines to the actuator.

 NOTE: The mounting lugs of the actuator housing must not touch the
____ clevis. To prevent this, hold the actuator at the center when you torque the tubing B-nuts.

 (4)  S 434-049Install the clamps to the lines.
 (5)  S 864-013Release the pressure from hydraulic systems A, B and standby (Ref 27-81-00/201).
 (6)  S 424-014Install the actuator: (a) Connect the actuator to the support fitting in the wing with the bolt, and washer on each side (View A-A, Fig. 401). 1) Make sure the clamp-up bushing is installed. (b) Install the locknut. (c) Tighten the locknut to 660-980 inch-pounds.
 NOTE:____ Minimum running torque of self locking nut is 60 inch-pounds.
 ú ú ú ú ú  (d)  Do a check on the actuator position after the installation ofthe actuator head end and before the installation of theactuator rod end. Do the step that follow:1) Make sure the actuator moves freely between the fixed upperand the fixed lower leading edges.
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONNECT THE HYDRAULIC LINES TO THE CORRECT PORTS AND FITTINGS. IF YOU CONNECT THE HYDRAULIC LINES TO INCORRECT PORTS AND FITTINGS, DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR CAN OCCUR.
 (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) (k)  Connect the hydraulic lines to the swivel joints.Remove the identification tags.Install the clamps to attach the lines to the wing structure.Install the inboard rib lower chord at the actuator.Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).Move the flap control lever to the 10-unit detent.Release the pressure from hydraulic system B when the slat actuator is half between the intermediate and the fully extended position (Ref 27-81-00/201).
