 NOTE: The clamp-up bushing, bolt head, and retainer must be on same
____ side. Install one chamfered (45 degrees) washer between rib flange and nut at slat No. 1 and slat No. 6 (Slat Station 319.90) only. Install the washer with its chamfered side pointing to the rib flange.

 Tighten the nut to 530-600 pound-inches.

 Install the bracket to the slat structure.

 Adjust the leading edge slat and do the flap and slat system tests (in the primary and alternate modes) and the usual operation time test for flaps and slats (AMM 27-81-00/501).

Install the access plate and seal at the slat actuator rod end.

 THE LEADING EDGE SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE
 THE LOCKS CORRECTLY.  THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR

 DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove the leading edge slat lockout set from the actuators of the leading edge slats (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Put the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent to retract the slats.

Procedure

 S 026-002
 (1)
Do this task: "Leading Edge Slat Removal" (Ref 27-81-21-401).

 S 226-003

 (2)
Do a check of the leading edge slat (Fig. 601):

 (a)
Remove the parts to be measured.

 (b)
Measure the dimensions of these parts.

 (c)
Compare the part dimensions to the limit dimensions.

 (d)
If the part dimension is out of tolerance, replace the part.

 (e)
Install all the parts removed to do the check.

 (3)
Do this task: "Leading Edge SLat Installation" (Ref 27-81-21/401).
