 (a)  
Set the captain's audio selector panel to HF-1.

 (b)  
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 9.

 (c)  
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester comes on.

 (d)  
Push the captain's PTT button.

 (e)  
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester goes out.

 (a)  
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 59.

 (b)  
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester is on.

 (c)  
Push the A/T disengage switch on the thrust lever for engine No. 1.

 (d)  
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester goes out.

 (e)  
Release the A/T disengage switch.

 (e)  
Push the autothrottle disconnect switch.

 (f)  
Make sure the autothrottle warning lights flash.

 (g)  
Make sure the BIT 8 light on the portable tester is off.

 (h)  
Release the autothrottle disconnect switch.
