Open these circuit breakers for the applicable cargo door, if they were closed and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P59 Aft Equipment Panel
 1) AFT CARGO DOOR POWER UNITS

 (b)  
P414 Power Distribution Center - Left
 1) 414A21 LOWER CARGO DOOR FWD
 2) 414F15 CARGO DOOR CONTROL FWD
 3) 414F16 CARGO DOOR CONTROL AFT

 (4)  
Clean the surfaces on the latch cam and latch pin fitting for the installation of stripes and arrows as follows:

 (a)  
Use a clean cloth to remove unwanted material, grease or oil from the surfaces.

 (b)  
Get the surface wet with solvent.

 (c)  
Clean the surfaces with a clean cloth.

 NOTE: Do not put the clean cloth into the solvent container.
____
 (d)  Do the above steps again if it is necessary.

 (5)  
If you do not have the latch alignment stripes and arrows make them as follows (Fig. 201):

 (a)  
Make the latch alignment stripes and arrows from reflective sheeting/adhesive back tape.

 NOTE: Use colors for the stripe and arrow that are different
____ from the color of the part that you apply them to.
 (b)  Cut the stripe and arrow shapes to the specified dimension (Views D and E, Fig. 201).

Install the latch alignment stripes and arrows as follows:

 (a)  
Remove the protective material from the back of the latch alignment stripe/arrow.

 (b)  
Install the latch alignment stripe on the latch cam as follows: 1) Install one edge of the latch alignment stripe to the

 cleaned surface on the latch cam. 2) Apply pressure on the stripe as you pull it tight. 3) Make sure the distance around the latch cam from the mouth
 to the edge of the stripe is 3.25 to 3.35 inches (section A-A).
 (c)  Install the latch alignment arrow on the latch pin fitting as follows:
 NOTE: Use a temporary marker to identify the arrow position.
____ When you find the correct position, install the permanent marker.
 1)  Install the (latch alignment) temporary arrow on the lower surface of the latch pin fitting (detail D).
 NOTE: The head of the arrow points to the latch cam in
____ the forward or aft direction as necessary.
 2)  Align the inboard edge of the latch alignment arrow on the same center line of the latch pin (detail D).

 (7)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers for the applicable cargo door:

 (a)  
P59 Aft Equipment Panel
 1) AFT CARGO POWER UNITS

 (b)  
P414 Power Distribution Center - Left
 1) 414A21 LOWER CARGO DOOR FWD
 2) 414F15 CARGO DOOR CONTROL FWD
 3) 414F16 CARGO DOOR CONTROL AFT

 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (8)  
Open the cargo door electrically an additional 3 feet to turn the hooks and cams to the open position.

 (9)  
Close the cargo door electrically to the full closed position.
