 newton-meters). 7) Lubricate the threads of the screws (72) with engine oil. 8) Align the boltholes and the contour of the bracket (73)
 with the bracket (75). 9) Install the bracket (73) with the screws (72). a) Tighten the screws (72) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.5 newton-meters). 10) Carefully install the thermocouple probe (71) into the
 bracket assembly. 11) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (78) with engine oil. 12) Install the bolts (78) to connect the thermocouple probe
 (71).
 NOTE: The boltholes in the bracket assembly and the
____ thermocouple probe-flange are offset. If necessary, turn the thermocouple probe to align the boltholes.
 a)  Tighten the bolts (78) to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
 (g)  Install the union (30) in the fuel pump (11): 1) Install new packing (31) on the union (30). 2) Lubricate the threads of the union (30) with engine oil. 3) Install the union (30) in the drain port of the fuel pump
 (11).
 4) Tighten the union (30).
 5) Install the elbow on the union (30):

 a)  Lubricate the threads of the elbow (29) with engine oil.

Install the packings (13, 35, 37, 41, and 42):

 (a)  
Install the packing (41) on the end of the oil-cooler-inlet fuel tube (34).

 (b)  
Install the packing (42) on the end of the oil-cooler-outlet fuel hose (36).

 (c)  
Install the packings (13) and retainers (12) on the ends of the supply tube (3) for the fuel distribution valve.

 (d)  
Install the packings (35 and 37) in the grooves on the drive shaft and the fuel pump base (11).

Install the fuel pump or fuel pump unit:

 (a)  
Make sure the bolts (60), with the washers, are installed in the drive pad of the fuel pump (11) (not the bolt which is to be installed at the anti-rotation hole location).

 (b)  
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (60) with the antigalling compound.

 (c)  
To install the fuel pump (11) or the fuel pump unit (11 and 6) easily, install the PWA 85989 handling fixture to the fuel pump (11): 1) Install the handling fixture to the fuel pump (11) or to
