feet. The second A/P must be engaged in CMD at this point. If a
disconnect occurs above 800 feet, both channels can be re-engaged.
Below 800 feet only a single channel can be re-engaged.
H. Landing ------- At 50 feet, FLARE occurs. The A/P controls the
airplane to reduce vertical speed to -2.5 feet per second at touchdown.
The flight director commands are biased off. At 27 feet R/A or 2.5
seconds after flare (whichever comes first), the A/T retards the throttles
and A/T annunciates RETARD.
I. Touchdown ------- Press the A/P disengage switch on the control wheel.
The A/P red warning light on the FMA flashes and an aural warning is
heard. Press either control wheel disconnect switch or either warning
light assembly to reset the warning. At squat, the A/T transfers to ARM.
At squat plus 2 seconds, the A/T disconnect. There is no warning for
touchdown A/T disconnect. When on ground and the ground speed is
reduced to less than 20 knots, all annunciation is off.

TEXT
[1] The digital audio control system provides the communication link
between the flight compartment, passenger cabin, ground, airplane
systems, and recorders. The remote electronics unit (REU) and the audio
control panel (ACP) work together as a complete system. The REU
manages the communications between three flight compartment stations
( captain, first officer, and observer ), service and flight interphone, and
all related electronics equipment. The ACP is the control device through
which the entire system operates, the ACP contains all switches and other
control elements that interface between the operator and the system.
At three flight deck stations, the ACP allows received audio,
navigation signals, volume, and particular transmitter to be selected. If a
system failure occurs, emergency operation bypasses all active circuitry
in the system to maintain communications between the aircraft and
ground stations.
The captain's and first officer's audio control panel are located on the
aft electronics panel (P8). The first observer's ACP is located on the aft
overhead panel (P5). The remote electronics unit is located on rack E2-1
in the electronic equipment compartment.
[2] Figure 41 - 1 shows the audio control panel. There are 7 microphone
selector push buttons on the top of ACP, these buttons direct microphone
