 A. Preparation for Installation
 (1)
 Clean the tie-rods (12) and (13) and the vibration isolator (10) with solvent CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-001) and a fiber-bristled brush.

 (2)
 Do a check and make sure that the tie-rods (12) and (13) are in correct condition.

 (3)
 If the tie-rods and/or the vibration isolator are damaged, replace them if necessary.

 (4)
 Clean and examine the attachment brackets, the APU mount-bracket (11) and the structure for damage and replace if nescessary.

 B. Installation of the Aft Vibration Isolator CAUTION : WHEN YOU REMOVE (INSTALL) THE APU, DISENGAGE (ENGAGE) ALL THE
_______ VIBRATION ISOLATORS AT THE SAME TIME FROM THE APU MOUNT BRACKETS. IF YOU DISENGAGE (ENGAGE) THEM ONE AFTER THE OTHER, THE LOADS WILL NOT BE EQUAL. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TIE RODS.

 (1)
 Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to all the mating surfaces. Do not apply it to the bonding straps.

 (2)
 Install the vibration isolator (10) on the APU mount-bracket (11).

 (3)
 If removed install the tie-rods (12) and/or (13).

 (a)
 Install the bolts (21), the washers (18) and the castle nuts (19).

 (b)
 TORQUE the castle nuts (19) to between 0.55 and 0.75 m.daN (48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in) and safety them with the new cotter pin (20).

 (c)
 Connect the bonding straps (15) to the bonding brackets (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).

 (d)
 Install the screws (16),the washers (17) and the nuts (14).

 (e)
 TORQUE the nuts (14) to between 0.22 and 0.26 m.daN (19.46 and

 23.00 lbf.in)

 (4)
 Install the tie-rods (12) and (13) at the vibration isolator.

 (5)
 Install the bolts (4) and (8), the washers (1) and (7) and the castle nuts (2) and (6).

 (6)
 TORQUE the castle nuts

item (2) to between 0.55 and 0.75 m.daN (48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in)

 -
item (6) to between 0.3 and 0.35 m.daN (26.54 and 30.97 lbf.in) and safety them with new cotter pin (3) and cotter pin (5).

 (7)
 Remove the PROTECTOR - THREADS, APU MOUNTING BOLTS and install the nut (9).

 (8)
 TORQUE the nut (9) to between 7.7 and 8.5 m.daN (56.78 and 62.68 lbf.ft)

 C. Remove the APU hoist (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-080-003) Subtask 49-12-53-420-057
 D. Apply a thin layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) to the vibration isolator (17), the tie-rod ends, the suspension structural brackets and the APU mount-bracket.

 Set the LIGHT SW 11LJ to the OFF position.

 Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-12-53-865-059

 B.
 Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.

 C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
 (1)
 Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
 (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).

 (2)
 De-energize the ground service network
 (Ref. TASK 24-42-00-862-001).

 (3)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 (4)
 Remove the warning notice(s).
