 A. Cleaning
 -Clean the vibration isolators and the tie-rods with a lint free cloth.

 B. Visual Inspection
 (1) Visual inspection of the tie-rods and the bonding straps.
 (a)
 Look that the nuts of the bolts (1) are safetied with cotter pins and that the cotter pins are in the correct condition.

 (b)
 Look that the nuts (2) are safetied with the tags of the lockwashers.

 (c)
 Examine the bonding straps (8) for correct attachment and condition.

 (d)
 Examine the tie-rods (3) for damage and corrosion .

 (e)
 Make sure that the tie-rods and the the tie-rod attachments are not bent.

 NOTE : Do the check with the straight-edges. On each tie-rod
____ assembly, you must do two checks in an angle of 90 degrees apart. On the tie-rods which hold the forward vibration isolators (4035KM and 4045KM), you must do the check with a straight-edge, 500mm (20 in.) length. On the tie-rods which hold the aft vibration isolators (4055KM), you must do the check with a straight-edge, 300 mm (12 in.) length. Move the straight-edges along the tie-rods to check the full length.
 NOTE : If a component is not in correct condition, replace it.
