(a) Disengage and lower the inboard side of the defective VMU
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-002).
(b) Do a check and repair as necessary the electrical connections on that VMU.
(c) Do a visual inspection of the mechanical retraction mechanism of the VMU and remove the blockage that you found.
(d) Lift the VMU into position and install it
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002).
(2) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the VIDEO MONITOR UNIT (100MH) that does not extend and/or retract
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002).
(3) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the TAPPING UNIT (TU) (50MH) that controls the VMU which does not extend and/or retract (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-44-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-44-400-001).
(4) If the fault continues:
(a) Do a check and repair as necessary the wiring between the VMU that does not extend and/or retract and the TU (50MH) that controls it. (Ref. ASM 23-36/02) and (Ref. ASM 23-36/02):
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/6 and the TU (50MH) connector B/7 (C/7)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/7 and the TU (50MH) connector B/8 (C/8)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/8 and the TU (50MH) connector B/6 (C/6)

- the VMU (100MH) connector A/2 and the TU (50MH) connector B/10 (C/10)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/3 and the TU (50MH) connector B/9 (C/9)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/5 and the TU (50MH) connector B/4 (C/4)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/1 and the TU (50MH) connector B/1 (C/1)
- the VMU (100MH) connector A/4 and the TU (50MH) connector B/2 (C/2).
B. If the indications on the SCU and on the VTR(s) are normal, but two of the VIDEO MONITOR UNITS (100MH) (that are mounted on different sides of the cabin) do not extend and/or retract:
(1) Make a decision and continue the trouble shooting procedure on one of the two VMUs (100MH).
NOTE : After the failure on the first VMU (100MH) is corrected,
____ continue with the subsequent procedure for the second unit.
(a) Disengage and lower the inboard side of the first (second) defective VMU (100MH)
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-002).
(b) Do a check and repair as necessary the electrical connections on that VMU (100MH).
(c) Do a visual inspection of the mechanical retraction mechanism and remove the blockage that you found.
(d) Lift the VMU (100MH) into position and install it
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002).
(2) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the first (second) of the VIDEO MONITOR UNIT (100MH) that does not extend and/or retract
- for the LH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-001)
- for the RH side of the cabin (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-22-400-002).
(3) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the TAPPING UNIT (50MH) which serves the first (second) VMU (100MH) that does not extend and/or retract, (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-44-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-44-400-001).

(4) If the fault continues:
