Move the clevis end of the cable assembly thru the bracket.

In the lavatory, disconnect the cable from the quick-disconnect.

In the non-modular lavatory,

 (a)  
Help the cable end through the pulley.

 (b)  
Remove the locknut, washer and seal from the top side of the sleeve subassembly in the floor or drip pan.

 (7)  In the modular lavatory,
 (a)  
Remove the lockwire, locknut and washer from the upstream side of the sleeve subassembly on the toilet tank.

 (b)  
Pull the cable end out of the mounting bracket.

 (c)  
Remove the plate and gasket from the lavatory partition.

 (d)  
Remove the clamp that holds the cable assembly to the lavatory partition.

 (8)  
From under the lavatory, pull the cable assembly out of the lavatory.

 (9)  
Remove the top cable assembly from the airplane.

 F. Prepare to Install the Cable Assembly

 (1)  Make sure the external locknut, washer and shim are removed from the service panel end of the cable assembly.
 NOTE:____Some cable assemblies do not have the shims. Ignore the steps and parts of steps for the shims if they are not applicable.

Make sure the internal locknut is adjusted to a position that allows the shim and washer to be just inboard of the center of the threaded section. The threaded section is part of the slider housing.

 (3)  
For cable assemblies that will attach to a mounting bracket under the lavatory:

 (a)  
Make sure the top locknut and washer are not installed.

 (b)  
Make sure the bottom locknut and washer are adjusted to the position that allows the bottom washer to be just below the center of the threaded section.
