 D. Procedure

 (1)  Make sure the external locknut, washer and shim are removed from the service panel end of the cable assembly.
 NOTE:____Some cable assemblies do not have the shims. Ignore the steps and parts of steps for shims if they are not applicable.

Make sure the internal locknut is adjusted to a position that allows the shim and washer to be just inboard of the center of the threaded section.

From inside of the airplane, put the service panel end of the cable assembly into the service panel.

Loosely install the external shim, washer, and locknut.

Adjust the two shims to align the cable assembly in the correct direction.

Turn the slider housing to align the flatted surfaces of the threaded section with the shorter sides of the placard for the tee handle.

 NOTE: The flatted surfaces of the threaded section will be

Tighten the external locknut and install the lockwire.
