 E. Procedure for Toilet Systems without the Ball Valve

 (1)  
Lubricate the full length of the cable with a small layer of the Dow Corning 33 grease.

 (2)
Lubricate the slider rod with a layer of the MIL-G-23827 grease.

If it was not necessary to disassemble the slider housing during the removal, do these steps:

 (a)  
Install the tee handle.

 (b)  
Put the end of the cable into its hole on the external side of the service panel.

 (c)  
Carefully push the cable through the casing until the tee handle gets to the closed position.

 (4)  If it was necessary to disassemble the slider housing during removal, do these steps:
 (a)  
Insert the cable and the slide rod assembly (with keys) into the cable housing.

 (b)  
Reassemble the sleeve and use locktite.

 (c)  
Move the inboard locknut to the position that allows the inboard wash or shim (if installed) to be just inboard of the center of the threaded section.

 (d)  
Put the slider housing into the hole in the service panel.

 (e)  
Install loosely, the external shim (if equipped), washer and locknut.

 (f)  
Install the handle on the cable in the locked open position.

 NOTE: Make sure the flatted surfaces of the threaded section
____ are 90 degrees to the tee handle when the tee handle is in the locked open position.
 (g)  
Tighten the external locknut and install the lockwire.

 (h)  
Push the tee handle to the closed position.

 (5)  
Move the ball end of the cable to meet with the quick-disconnect connection and make a mark to identify this location.

 (6)  
Use the swaging die and the portable swager to swage the ball end to the cable.

 NOTE: Swage ball to conform to MS20664C3 contour.

 (7)  
Cut the cable end that goes past the ball.

 (8)  
Engage the cable at the quick-disconnect.

 NOTE: With the drain valve closed, make sure that there is a
____ 1/2-inch cable movement, with a cable load of approximately 5 pounds, before the valve starts to open.

 (9)  
If necessary, move the casing and move the clamps for a new cable routing. Move the insulation as necessary (AMM 25-21-39/401 or 25-52-91/401).
