CURRENCY
The currency in North Cyprus is Turkish Lira. But Euros, Sterling and
other foreign cash can be exchanged at all banks and in many hotels.
Travellers cheques are accepted in banks and most exchange offices.
Credit cards are widely accepted in North Cyprus and commission
charges are often high.
LOCAL CONDITIONS
Please bear in mind that in North Cyprus life is very different from
that in mainland Europe. Obviously, this is part of the charm of your
holiday, but also means that you are not likely to find the same
sophisticated standards of public utilities you are used to.
It is possible that you may experience power cuts or water shortages
during your holiday and, since local life must continue and this part of
Cyprus is continually under development, it is possible that there may
be building work in progress in your chosen resort.
Obviously, such matters are beyond our control and we cannot take
responsibility for them. Should we know in advance when this is likely
to have a serious effect on the enjoyment of your holiday we will do
our best to inform you in advance.
SELF-CATERING HOLIDAYS
Where accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis, and is
described as having a ‘kitchenette’, this will usually consist of a sink,
fridge, gas or electric rings and sometimes, but not always, an oven
and/or grill. The facilities and equipment provided will always be
sufficient for making light meals.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you have any special requests, such as vegetarian meals, wheelchair
assistance or a particular type of room, please inform us at the time of
booking.
Although we shall do our utmost to comply with these requests,
unfortunately this cannot be guaranteed.
TAILOR MADE HOLIDAYS
With CTA Holidays you are not limited to one destination or one
resort. You may like to combine a hotel in Kyrenia with another in
Famagusta or you may want to stop in Antalya on the way to Cyprus
or from Cyprus to the UK and have a two centre holiday in Turkey and
North Cyprus. CTA will be happy to arrange things just as you wish.

FUN FOR THE FAMILY WITH CTA AND
THE CHILD DISCOUNTS
All children under the age of 2 at the time of departure and
return from/to the U.K. are classed as infants. The charge
for infants is £40, however, you may have to pay for meals
locally. Infants are not entitled to their own seat on the
aircraft. Children aged from 2-11 are entitled to a reduction
of 30% off the adult price, as long as they are sharing a
room with two adults, or in the case of apartments, as long
as the minimum occupancy is made up of adults.
TRANSFERS & LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES
On arrival in North Cyprus you will be warmly met at Ercan
Airport by your representative who will immediately direct
you to your waiting transport for transfers to your chosen
accommodation. A welcome briefing is usually arranged to
inform you of local customs, places of interest, etc., whilst
at the same time enable you to raise any queries that you
may have. You will be informed of your return transfer
time by your local representative, either in person or in
writing, or a note will be posted on your hotel notice board.
Transfer time from Ercan Airport to Kyrenia is approximately
45 minutes and to Famagusta 50 minutes.
