not satisfied. X should also try to lock beyond what they see when they are visiting the
company and talking to the supplier. Maybe they can talk to another costumer which is
not a competitor, but you should be aware of their possible interest. Different certificates
could show how well the company have control over their processes. Also it could be a
possibility to do more visit to the factory with an ex…. When X is developing a new
product and probably changes factory, it is an advantage to choose a smaller supplier. At
the smaller supplier X will be a more important costumer and is more needed for the
supplier survival. If the company is smaller, it is also easier to make “necessary” changes.
It probably also worth it to go to a supplier with little higher prices, but instead can offer
better quality.
Improving current situation
The situation today is as being discussed not good. There are a lot of tricks and broken
promises going around. To improve the situation, we’ve got some suggestions. X could
go to China more often and watch the production and meet the eye to eye, which will
affect Y more. Maybe X needs a new start with a new contact at Y, so a new trust
relationship could be build up. X could also motivate Y by offering more money (bonus)
when there are low quality problem. In this way Y would get an incentive to work for
better quality. As it seems today they don’t really care about what they are sending away.
A bonus would make Y work harder without increasing prices.
Conclusions
Having production in china could mean a lot of problem as this example shows. Huge
quality problem, delivery three months later than scheduled, lack of trust, broking
promises and company more interested in short term profit than satisfying costumer.
Although China is a very cheap production place, you have to be aware of this problem
and how they will affect your company. Especially try not to get dependent on a supplier
that you haven’t been working with before. Recommendations for having a supplier in
China are the following;
• Be independent and free to change supplier
• De aware of tricks and promises
• Give them a motivation like a bonus if quality and delivery time are good.
• Don’t be a to small costumer

Introduction
To analyse the leadership we have to approach the problem of leadership
from two sides. Let’s take a closer look at the leader first. We collected several skills
with the group about what makes a good leader in our opinion. A good leader has to
be objective, be provocative (has to be able to make people ask question themselves
to find faults), collect the ideas without criticising them, checking the problems by
questioning, be open-minded (think out of the box), give task and explain why it is
important, etc… But as we know a leader cannot exist without having a group to lead.
So in order to understand leadership better we have to analyse the team as well.
Leadership in the team
What makes a team more than just a group of people? Is it the group of
people themselves? Or is it the leader? The team is the group people who the leader
influences. It is always easier to be the leader of a team which communicates well,
can handle the conflict very well, etc… But these things can be learned by
experience. From every experience we can learn something about ourselves or the
thing which we are working with. We can ask the question: Does a group of people
also have skills that make them a good team? In my opinion they do have. There are
certain skills that are not a skill of a person, and the person cannot improve it
him/herself alone. They are team skills which help the group to work more efficient.
These skills are not only important on their own, but are connected in a ceratin
way. The first step of becoming a team has to be to communicate with each other.

And with the help of communication we get to know each other better. That helps
also to understand each other. And if we understand and know each other well, it will
on one hand improve communication and on the other hand the team members trust
increases to each other. And one of the most important things about trust is that it
improves cooperation. By having a good cooperating skill, it also effects
communication in a positive way. And all the above mentioned skills should result
