-is with the center tank full. Methods 2 and 3 prevent the gravity feed of fuel from the LH vent-surge tank to the center tank.
(1)
Refuel the RH wing tank to full (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-003) and keep the fuel tanker connected to the aircraft.
(2)
Stop the operation of the fuel tanker.
(3)
Put the container below the water drain valve 22QM.
(4)
Install the PURGING TOOL (97A28002117002) on to the water drain valve 22QM (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(5)
Set the fuel tanker to its lowest flow rate and pressure.
(6)
On the panel 800VU:
(a)
Lift the guard and put the MODE SELECT switch to the REFUEL position.
(b)
Lift the guard and put the RH wing-tank REFUEL VALVES switch to the OPEN position.
(c)
Lift the guards and put the remaining REFUEL VALVES switches to the SHUT position.
(d)
Put the TEST switch to the HI LVL position:
-make sure that the RH wing-tank HI LVL light goes out.
(7)
Start the operation of the fuel tanker.
(8)
Make sure that fuel flows into the RH vent surge tank and out of the water drain valve 22QM.
(9)
On the panel 800VU:
-release the TEST switch
-put the RH wing-tank REFUEL VALVES switch to the SHUT position.
(10)
Make sure that the fuel flow from the water drain valve 22QM decreases and then stops.
(11)
Close the water drain valve 22QM and remove the PURGING TOOL (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

On the panel 800VU:
-put the RH wing-tank REFUEL VALVES switch to the OPEN position.
(13)
Let 150 l (39.6254 USgal) of fuel, measured at the tanker, flow into the RH vent surge tank.
(14)
Stop the operation of the fuel tanker.
(15)
On the panel 800VU:
-
put all of the REFUEL VALVES switches to the NORM and guarded position
-
put the MODE SELECT switch to the OFF and guarded position.

Open the RH MLG door (Ref. TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(b)
Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE (460005835) is installed on the MLG door actuating cylinder.
(c)
Defuel the center tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(d)
Use the PURGING TOOL (97A28002117002) and drain the remaining fuel from the center tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(e)
Put the access platform below the access panel 148AZ.

(f)
Remove the access panel 148AZ (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002) (Ref. TASK 57-17-11-000-001).
(g)
Install a blank on the open end of the center-tank vent-pipe, inside the center tank.
(h)
Remove the check valve 93QM from the vent-pipe in the center-tank (Ref. TASK 28-12-44-000-004).
(i)
Install a blank onto the open vent-pipe.
(2)
Refuel the LH wing tank to full (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-003) and keep the fuel tanker connected to the aircraft.
