Put the access platform in position:
(a)
For the left pylon at the zone 470.
(b)
For the right pylon at the zone 480.
(2)
Remove the access panels:
(a)
For the left pylon: 471AL, 472AR, 414FR.
(b)
For the right pylon: 481AL, 482AR, 423FL.
4. Procedure

A. Drain the Fuel from the Pylon Engine Fuel Feed Pipe
(1)
Remove the drain plug from the fuel filter housing and drain the fuel from the engine and fuel feed pipe (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-000-004).
(2)
When the flow of fuel stops, install the drain plug in the fuel filter housing (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-400-004).

B. Removal of the Pylon Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Seals
(1)
Remove the nut (17), the bolt (8) and the bonding leads (7) from the clamp (16).
(2)
Remove the nuts (3), the bolts (9) and the clamps (2).
(3)
Disengage the sleeves (1) and move them away from the pipe assembly (15).
WARNING : CUT, REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE AS YOU DO THE TASK.

LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT OR BLIND YOU.
(4) Remove and discard the lockwire from the connectors (11) and the nuts
(12) and (4).

Loosen the nuts (12) and (4). Remove the nuts (4) and the retaining rings (5).
(6)
Remove the connectors (11), the retaining rings (6) and the nuts (12) from the pipe assembly (15).
(7)
Remove the pipe assembly (15) and put blanking caps on the disconnected fuel pipes.
(8)
Remove and discard the O-rings (10), (13) and (14) from the pipe assembly (15).

C. Installation of the Pylon Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Seals
(1)
Lubricate the new O-rings (10), the new O-rings (13) and the new O-rings (14) with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) and install on the pipe assembly (15).
(2)
Remove the blanking caps from the disconnected fuel pipes.
(3)
Put the nuts (12) and the retaining rings (6) on the pipe assembly (15).
(4)
Put the pipe assembly (15) in position between the fuel pipes. Make sure that there is the same clearance of 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.) +/- 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) at each end of the pipe assembly.
(5)
Put the connectors (11) on the pipe assembly (15). Move the connectors a short distance up and down the pipe assembly to correctly install the O-rings (10) and (13).
(6)
Install the nuts (12), the retaining rings (6), the nuts (4) and the retaining rings (5) on the connectors (11). Hand tighten only the nuts (4) and (12).
(7)
Safety the nuts (4) and (12) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010) to the connectors (11).
(8)
Put the sleeves (1) on the pipe assembly (15). Move the sleeves a short distance up and down the pipe assembly to correctly install the O-rings (14).
(9)
Install the clamps (2), the bolts (9) and the nuts (3).

(10) Install the bonding leads (7), the bolt (8) and the nut (17) on the
clamp (16).
(11) Tighten the nut (17) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-002). Subtask 28-20-00-210-050
D. Visual Check
(1)
Do a wet motor check to make sure that there are no fuel leaks (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-002).
(2)
Do a visual check of the pylon fuel feed pipe to make sure that there are no fuel leaks (Ref. TASK 28-21-00-790-002).

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Install the access panels:
(a) For the left pylon: 471AL, 472AR, 414FR.
(b) For the right pylon: 481AL, 482AR, 423FL. Subtask 28-20-00-865-051
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1QG, 3QG, 2QG, 4QG.
