 A. Preparation for Installation
 (1)
 If necessary, use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the interfaces of the brake temperature monitoring unit (10).

 Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (3)
 Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

 B. Installation of the Brake Temperature Monitoring Unit
 (1)
 Make sure that the brake temperature monitoring unit (10) is orientated correctly and put in position on the bracket (2).

 (2)
 Install the monitoring unit (10) with the bolts (1), the washers (6) and the nuts (7).

 (3)
 TORQUE the nuts (7) to between 24 and 28 lbf.in (0.27 and 0.31 m.daN).

 (4)
 Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the bolts (1) and the nuts (7).

 C. Electrical Bonding Resistance Test
 (1) Use a Milliohmmeter Megger, Type BT51 to measure the bonding resistance between:
 (a) The MLG forward pintle bearing and the brake temperature monitoring unit (10). The bonding resistance must be less than 20 milliohms.

 D. Electrical Connection of the Brake Temperature Monitoring Unit
 (1)
 Remove the blanking caps from:

the brake temperature monitoring unit (10) connector receptacle

 -
the brake temperature sensor (4) connector receptacles

the electrical connectors (5) and (8).

 (2)
 Install the electrical connector (8) on the monitoring unit (10).

 (3)
 Install the electrical connectors (5) on the brake temperature sensors (4).

 (4)
 Move the rubber shields (3) into position over the electrical connectors (5) and the brake temperature sensor (4) connector receptacles.

 (5)
 Move the rubber shield (9) into position over the electrical connector (8) and the monitoring unit (10) connector receptacle.

 -the WHEEL page comes into view. Make sure that the temperatures shown agree with the ambient temperature with a precision of plus or minus 25 deg.C (77.00 deg.F).
 NOTE: In case of negative temperatures, or temperatures near 0 deg.C (32.00 deg.F), the indication on the display unit ranges from 0 deg.C (32.00 deg.F) to 25 deg.C (77.00 deg.F) approximately.
