D. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(1)
Remove the unions (3). Remove and discard the packings (4) from the unions (3).
(2)
Remove the restrictor (8). Remove and discard the packing (9) from the restrictor (8).
(3)
Remove the unions (10). Remove and discard the packings (9) from the unions (10).
(4)
Remove the special union (20). Remove and discard the packing (9) from the special union (20).
(5)
Remove the reducer (14). Remove and discard the packing (13) from the reducer (14).
(6)
Obey the hydraulic safety proceures (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(7)
Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003), HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003A), HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003B), HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003C) or HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003D) to:
-
the threads of the unions (3) and (10),
-
the threads of the special union (20),
-
the threads of the restrictor (8),
-
the threads of the reducer (14),
-
the new packings (4), (9) and (13).

Put the new packings (4) on the unions (3).
(9)
Put the new packings (9) on the restrictor (8), the unions (10) and the special union (20).
(10)
Put the new packing (13) on the reducer (14).
(11)
Remove the blanking plugs.
(12)
Install the unions (3) in the automatic selector (5).
(13)
TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.08 and 1.19 m.daN (95.57 and
105.30 lbf.in).

(14)
Install the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) in the automatic selector (5).
(15)
TORQUE the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) to between 3.19 and
3.47 m.daN (23.52 and 25.58 lbf.ft).
(16)
Install the special union (20) in the automatic selector (5).
(17)
TORQUE the special union (20) to between 3.19 and 3.47 m.daN (23.52 and 25.58 lbf.ft).
(18)
Install the reducer (14) in the automatic selector (5).
(19)
TORQUE the reducer (14) to between 1.42 and 1.54 m.daN (10.47 and

E. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THE

SPECIAL MATERIAL.
THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
(4) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the component interface.

A. Installation of the Automatic Selector 2576GM
CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1)
Put the automatic selector (5) in position and install the washers
(19) and the bolts (18).
(2)
Remove the blanking plugs.
(3)
Connect the connectors (1), (2) and (17) to the unions (10) and (3).
(4)
Put the elbow (6) in position and connect the connectors (7) to the restrictor (8).
(5)
Put the restrictor valve (12) in positon and connect the connectors
(11) to the union (10).
CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE. A RED
_______ ARROW, IDENTIFIED AS 'F' IS SHOWN ON SOME THROTTLE VALVES. THE ARROW SHOWS THE DIRECTION OF THE THROTTLE AND NOT THE DIRECTION OF THE FLOW. THUS, WHEN YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE ARROW POINTS AWAY FROM THE AUTOMATIC SELECTOR. IF YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE IN THE INCORRECT DIRECTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM.
