A. Clean the IP Bleed Check Valve
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Clean the check valve with a clean lint-free cloth moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002).

B. Inspection of the IP Bleed Check Valve

R (1) IP Bleed Check Valves with return spring(s):
R (Ref. Fig. 601/TASK 36-11-41-991-905-A)
R (a) Make sure that the IP bleed check valve is in the correct
R condition.
R (b) Specially make sure that the flappers, their seats, the hinge pin
R and the return springs of the flappers are in the correct
R condition (make sure that there are no cracks, bosses, dents,
R corrosion or frictional wear).
R 1_ Make sure that there are no missing parts.
R a_ If you find missing parts:
R - replace the IP bleed check valve and do an inspection at
R the hot-air inlet manifold of the engine bleed precooler
R - do a visual inspection of the starter for a possible
R foreign-object damage (Ref. TASK 80-11-10-210-003).
R (c) Put the flappers in the open position and do the check that
R follows:
R 1_ Install the end of the spring scale on the middle point of the
R rim of the flapper.
R 2_ Push the flappers with a force between 0 lbf (0.00 daN) and
R 1.34 lbf (0.60 daN) with a displacement angle between 0 degree
R and 20 degrees.
R 3_ Make sure that the flappers move to the closed position.
R a_ If the flappers do not move to the closed position, reject
R the valve.
R (2) IP Bleed Check Valves with no return spring:
R (Ref. Fig. 602/TASK 36-11-41-991-906)
R (a) Make sure that the IP bleed check valve is in the correct
R condition.

(b)
Specially make sure that the flappers, their seats and the hinge pin are in the correct condition (no cracks, missing parts, bosses, dents, corrosion or frictional wear).
(c)
Make sure that the flappers move freely to the closed position.
(d)
Make sure that the flappers close fully by their weight.
(e)
Do a detailed inspection of the IP bleed check valve.
1 If you find missing parts:
_
-replace the IP bleed check valve and do an inspection at the hot-air inlet manifold of the engine bleed precooler
-do a visual inspection of the starter for a possible foreign-object damage (Ref. TASK 80-11-10-210-003).
2 If you find no missing parts:
_
-
make sure that the clearance A between the bushings (1) and
(2) is less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.)
-
make sure that the clearance B between the bushings (3) and
(4) is less than 1.2 mm (0.05 in.)
-if the clearance A between the bushings (1) and (2) or the clearance B between the bushings (3) and (4) is more than
1.2 mm (0.05 in.), replace the IP bleed check valve.
