A. Installation of the Fan Air Valve Control Thermostat
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(5)
Install a new packing (7) on the thermostat (3).
(6)
Install the thermostat (3) on its support (6).
(7)
Install the bolts (2) and (8) and the nuts (4) and (5) and then tighten them.
(8)
Do these steps to connect the sense line (1):
(a)
Make sure that the sense line (1) and the union (9) are serviceable.
(b)
Remove the blanking plug from the union (9).
(c)
Clean the threads of the union (9).
(d)
Apply a thin layer of LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-006) to the threads of the union (9).
NOTE : Do not apply a large quantity of LUBRICANTS (Material No.
____ 06-006) to the threads of the union (9). Too much LUBRICANTS (Material No. 06-006) can cause pollution of the pneumatic system.
(e)
Remove the blanking plug from the sense line (1).
(f)
Connect the sense line (1) to the union (9).
(9) Do this step to TORQUE the sense line (1) (Ref. TASK 20-21-12-911-001):
CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION
_______ WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
(a) TORQUE the sense line (1) to between 1.52 and 1.63 m.daN (11.20 and 12.02 lbf.ft).
(10) Safety the sense line (1) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-018). R **ON A/C 106-149, 211-299, 301-399, 401-499,

A. Installation of the Fan Air Valve Control Thermostat
(1)

Install the washers (5), the bolts (2) and (8) and then tighten them.

Make sure that the sense line (1) and the union (9) are serviceable.
(b)
Remove the blanking plug from the union (9).
(c)
Clean the threads of the union (9).

(1) Remove the warning notice from the HP ground connector.
(2) Connect an air source to the HP ground connector.
(3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU, set the X BLEED selector to OPEN.
(4) Supply a stable pressure of 30 psi (2.07 bar) to the HP ground
