AIR CONDITIONING - POS IND

 Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 Make sure that the pneumatic system is not pressurized (Ref 36-05-00/201).

 Make sure that the applicable temperature selector on the P5-17 panel is in the OFF position.

 Make sure that the position indicator on the mix valve is in the fully COLD position.

 Make sure that the AIR MIX VALVE indicator on the P5-17 panel is in the fully COLD position.

 NOTE: Look for the pair of index marks in the most left position.
____ The AIR MIX VALVE indicator is in the fully COLD position when the indicator pointer aligns with the inner mark of these two marks. The AIR MIX VALVE indicator is in the fully HOT position when the indicator pointer aligns with the inner mark of the two most right marks.

 Open the OVERHEAT circuit breaker on the P6-4 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

 If the indicator pointer does not move to the fully COLD position, adjust the position transmitter:

 (a)  
Remove the position transmitter cap.

 (b)  
Loosen the retaining screws for the position transmitter.

 (c)  
Turn the position transmitter housing on its shaft until the AIR MIX VALVE indicator pointer on the P5-17 panel aligns with the inner mark of the two most left index marks.

 (d)  
Tighten the retaining screws.

 Put the L or R PACK switch, as applicable, to AUTO on the P5-10 panel.

 Hold the applicable temperature selector in the MANUAL-WARM position.

 Make sure that the position indicator on the mix valve moves to the fully HOT position.

 Make sure that the indicator pointer for the AIR MIX VALVE indicator moves to the fully HOT position.

 (a)  If the indicator pointer does not show the fully HOT position, do these steps: 1) Remove the temperature control module (P5-17) from the
 forward overhead panel.
 2)  Adjust the variable resistor, R2 for the passenger cabin, or R3 for the control cabin, until the indicator pointer and the index mark align.
 3)  Hold the temperature selector to the MANUAL-COOL position until the position indicator on the mix valve moves to the fully COLD position.

 4)  Make sure that the indicator pointer aligns with the COLD index mark.
 5)  If the indicator pointer does not align with the COLD index mark, do these steps: a) Adjust the position transmitter until the indicator
 pointer aligns with the COLD index mark.
 b)  Adjust the position transmitter again until the indicator pointer is in the fully HOT position with the temperature selector in the MANUAL-WARM position.
