(1)
Open the access door for the ram air duct.
(2)
Open the bay doors to the air conditioning equipment.
(3)
Remove the inspection doors for the inlet duct of the ram air.

Remove the V-band clamps that connect the heat exchanger to the air conditioning ducts.

For the right heat exchanger, remove the section of the turbofan duct assembly below the heat exchanger (Fig. 401).

Remove the section of the purge line for the air cleaner below the heat exchangers (Detail B, Fig. 401).

(7) S 014-050Remove the duct between the 35 degree F valve and the air mix valve: (a) Remove the V-band clamp that is upstream of the 35 degree F valve. (b) Remove the clamp that is downstream of the air mix valve. (c) Remove the duct. (d) Remove the 35 degree F valve if it is necessary (AMM 21-51-51/401).
(8) S 034-011Remove the screws that attach the inlet lip of the heat exchanger.
(9) S 034-012Remove the inlet lip.

Remove the screws that attach the heat exchanger to the lower wing beam.

Hold the heat exchanger while you remove the fasteners on the inboard side of the heat exchanger:
(a) For the primary heat exchanger, remove the bolts and washers that hold the heat exchanger to the two clip assemblies and to outlet duct for the ram air.
NOTE: One clip assembly is installed on the forward end and
____ the aft end of the heat exchanger.
(b) For the secondary heat exchanger, remove the bolts, washers, and spacers (if installed) that attach the heat exchanger to the two clip assemblies and to the flexible duct.
NOTE: The flexible duct is between the heat exchanger and the
____ outlet duct for the ram air. One clip assembly is installed on the forward end and the aft end of the heat exchanger. The spacers are installed on the forward end of the heat exchanger. One spacer is shorter than the other spacer.
