(1)
Install two new O-rings, lightly lubricated with fuel, on the drain assembly.

(2)
Install the drain assembly.
(a)
Move the drain assembly up through the hole in the drain outlet structure.
(b)
Put the end of the drain assembly into the upper housing.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ATTACH THE DRAIN ASSEMBLY TO THE UPPER
_______ HOUSING. DAMAGE TO THE DETENT EARS WHICH LOCK THE ASSEMBLY TO THE HOUSING CAN OCCUR.
(3) Attach the drain assembly to the housing.
(a)
Turn the drain assembly until the lockpin moves freely into the slot.
(b)
Turn the drain assembly counterclockwise until the pin locks on the detent.

(4) Install the retaining plate on the lower housing with four bolts and four washers.

Align the applicable holes and attach the retaining plate to the drain outlet structure with two bolts and two washers.

Open and close the sump drain to make sure it operates correctly and moves freely.
NOTE: Some fuel drains from the open drain assembly if the tank
____ contains fuel. Catch the fuel with an applicable container.

Close the access door for the sump drain.

Attach the bonding jumper on the drain assembly to the airplane structure.

Do a check of the electrical bond between the drain assembly and the airplane structure (SWPM 20-20-00).
(a) The resistance must not be more than 0.010 ohm.

(10) Close the access door for the air conditioning bay (Ref Chapter 21).

Open the access door for the right air conditioning bay to get access to the ground strap on the drain assembly.

Look through the access hole in the keel beam to find the screw that attaches the ground strap to the sump drain assembly.

Remove the screw that attaches the ground strap to the sump drain assembly.
