Install the bolts, washers, and nuts which attach the caster or roller to the beam assembly.

Make sure the caster or roller can turn freely.

 C. Install the Push-Down Fittings
 S 424-030
 (1)  For the center guide/restraints with casters or rollers, do these steps:
 (a)  
Install the spring on the push-down fitting.

 (b)  
Hold the push-down fitting in its position on the beam assembly.

 (c)  
Install the shaft through the beam assembly, the push-down fitting, and the spring.

 (d)  
Install the washers and screws which attach the shaft to each side of the beam assembly.

 (2)  For the center guide/restraints without casters or rollers, do these steps:
 (a)  
Hold the push-down fitting in its position on the beam assembly.

 (b)  
Install the spacers, bolt, washer, and nut which attach the push-down fitting to the beam assembly.

 (c)  
Lift the handle below the push-down fitting to retract the pins.

 (d)  
Lower the push-down fitting until the pins align with the holes in the side of the beam assembly.

 (e)  
Release the handle to extend the pins through the holes in the beam assembly.

 (3)  Do an operation check of the push-down fitting:
 (a)  
Hold the push-down fitting in the down position.

 (b)  
Push the lock plunger on the side of the beam assembly until the release-lever latches it.

 (c)  
Make sure the push-down fitting stays locked in the down position.

Push the release-lever on the side of the beam assembly until the lock plunger disengages from it.

 (e)  
Make sure the push-down fitting extends smoothly.

 D. Install the Center Guide/Restraints
 S 424-031
 (1)  Put the center guide/restraint in its position on the floor.
 NOTE: The pin at the end of each tension bar must engage with the
____
 hole in the seat track.

Hold the center guide/restraint at a small angle above the floor.

Move each tension bar forward or aft until the tension bar studs align with the holes in the seat tracks.

 (4)  
Lower the center guide/restraint until the tension bar studs engage with the holes in the seat tracks.

 (5)  
Move each tension bar approximately 0.50 inch in the forward or aft direction.

 (6)  
Turn (horizontally) and lower the shear-plunger levers to extend the shear-plunger studs into the holes in the seat track.

Try to move the center guide/restraint forward and aft to make sure it is locked to the seat tracks.
