The inflation cable moves at least 0.85 inches.

 G. Put the airplane back to its normal condition.

See that the manual release handle is in the UNLOCKED position.

 (b)  
Put the chute back to its normal position.

Close the upper deck door.

Return the escape slide to a serviceable condition.

 (a)  
Connect the gas supply hose.

 (b)  
Attach the release lanyards (two) and install the cotter pins.

 (c)  
Remove the stored gas bottle simulator (or the expended bottle) and install a serviceable stored gas bottle (AMM 25-68-04/201).

 (4)  Return the escape slide assembly to its usual position.
 (a)  Unlock the assembly from the tracks.

 FLOOR MOUNTED ESCAPE SLIDE UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  The floor-mounted escape slide may be removed and installed as a complete unit including the escape slide pack and packboard, the stored gas bottle, and the base and chute assembly. Removal of the complete unit is accomplished by unlatching the base shear plunger, removing the stop from the forward end of the inboard track, moving the unit forward or aft (approximately 0.90 inch) and lifting it up clear of the floor tracks. However, because the escape slide pack weighs approximately 167 pounds and the stored gas bottle approximately 45 pounds, it is recommended that the assembly be removed in three stages: the stored gas bottle, the escape slide pack, and the base and chute assembly.
 B.  This procedure contains two tasks:

A task to remove the escape slide assembly

 (2)
A task to install the escape slide assembly.

Put a maintenance stand outside the of the upper deck door.

Open the upper deck door.

 (3)
Install the safety barrier at the door.

Put the escape slide in position adjacent to the door.

Unlock the slide assembly from the tracks.

 (b)
Move the assembly forward to put it adjacent to the door.

 (c)
Lock the assembly to the tracks.
