CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THE WASHER CORRECTLY. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE WASHER CORRECTLY, THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY CAN BECOME LOOSE AND AXLE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
 (k)  Install the washer (5).
 NOTE:____ Install the washer with the small end of the taper adjacent to the bearing. Make sure to align the tang of the washer with the axle keyway.
 (2)  S 864-031Release the parking brake.
 (3)  S 094-032Remove the axle thread protector.
 (4)  S 644-033Lubricate the axle and nut threads with grease.
 (5)  S 644-091Lubricate the mating surfaces of the nut and washer with grease.
 (6)  S 434-034Do the steps that follow to install the axle nut (6) with the special wrench adapter:
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE WASHER IS AGAINST THE SHOULDER OF THE AXLE. FAILURE TO PUT THE WASHER AGAINST THE SHOULDER OF THE AXLE CAN CAUSE AXLE THREAD DAMAGE WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE NUT AND THE WHEEL WILL BE LOOSE.
 (a)  Before you tighten the axle nut, make sure the washer is against the shoulder of the axle.
 NOTE:____ The outer edge of the washer must be adjacent to the axle nut on all sides. Make sure to engage the tang of the washer in the groove in the axle.
 (b) (c) (d) (e) (f)  While you turn the wheel, tighten the axle nut to 450-525 pound-feet.Stop the wheel.Loosen the axle nut to 10-100 pound-feet.While you turn the wheel again, tighten the axle nut to a minimum of 150-250 pound-feet.If it is necessary, continue to tighten the axle nut, to a maximum of 250 pound-feet, to align the lockbolt holes.

 (g)  Make sure the threads on the axle extend 1/2 to 1 full thread more than the limit of the tightened axle nut.

 (7)  Do the steps that follow to install the two lockbolts (8):
 NOTE: The bolts must go through the slot in the axle nut, the axle
____ and the transducer support. The direction that you install the bolts is optional.
 (a)  
Install the washers (9).

 (b)  
Tighten the lockbolts to 75-85 pound-inches.

Make sure the tire pressure is correct (AMM 12-15-06/301).

Use the jack to lower the airplane truck until the weight of the airplane is on the tires (AMM 07-11-03/201).

 Do the steps that follow to install the hubcap (12):

 (a)  
Put the hubcap (12) in its position on the end of the axle.

 (b)  
Turn the hubcap (12) lightly back and forth until the transducer coupling in the hubcap engages with the dog on the transducer.

 (c)  
Turn the hubcap (12) until the pin in the hubcap falls into the mating hole in the wheel.

 NOTE: If the pin will not fall in the hole, make sure the
____ correct bearing is installed in the outer half of the wheel. To do this, you must remove the axle nut to see if the bearing has the correct number.
 (d)  Install Stainless Steel clamp (11) and tighten it to 35-40 pound-inches.

 If the antiskid transducer was removed during the wheel removal and installation, do the operational test for the antiskid system (AMM 32-42-00/501).
