(b)  Attach the hoists to the bootstrap equipment and the cradle with the steps that follow (Fig. 409): 1) Install the protection pads on the engine to prevent damage
 from the hoists (2 and 11). 2) Attach the aft load cell (1) to the aft outboard arm. 3) Attach the end of the aft 3-ton hoists (2) with the handle
 to the aft load cell (1) and the aft inboard arm. 4) Move the aft cable (3) to install the sheaves (4). 5) Attach the aft 3-ton hoists (2) to the cable (3). 6) Attach the forward 6-ton hoists (11) to the outboard and
 inboard shackles (12 and 13).
 (c)  
Operate the hoists to align the transportation stand below the strut. 1) Monitor the load cells to make sure they are less than the

 load limits.

 (d)  
If the load is more than the limits, move the engine (1) more directly below the strut.

 (e)  
Release the load from the hoists.

 (5)  Loosen the bolts (2) and remove the pins (4) which attach the cradle to the transportation stand (Fig. 410).

 CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE POWER PLANT MOVE IN THE PITCH OR ROLL DIRECTIONS
_______ WHEN YOU LIFT IT FROM THE TRANSPORTATION STAND. IF THE HOISTS HAVE AN INCORRECT LOAD OR THEY DO NOT MOVE FREELY BETWEEN THE CRADLE AND TRANSPORTATION STAND, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
 (6)  Lift the power plant with the cradle until you can see it aligned with the strut [approximately 6.0 inches (150 mm) below the strut].
 (a)  Use the forward 6-ton hoists to move the power plant in the roll direction.

(b)  Use the forward or aft hoist to move the power plant in the pitch direction.

 (7)  Connect the engine mounts with the steps that follow (Fig. 411):
 (a)  
Make sure the barrel nuts (5) and retainers (6) are removed from the aft end of the forward engine mount.

 (b)  
Lift the power plant equally to do one of the two steps below:

 -Engage the shear pins of the forward and aft power plant mount at the same time.
 -Let the forward pin go in the alignment hole 0.10 inch
 (2.5 mm) before the aft shear pins.
 NOTE: It will be necessary to move the power plant about
____ its longitudinal axis approximately 5 to 7 degrees.
 WARNING:_______MONITOR THE LOAD CELLS ON THE FORWARD AND AFT HOISTS. DO NOT LET THE LOAD BE MORE THAN 7500 POUNDS IN EACH FORWARD LOAD CELL. DO NOT LET THE LOAD BE MORE THAN 1650 POUNDS IN THE AFT LOAD CELL. IF THE LOAD IS MORE THAN THE LIMITS, THE ENGINE CAN FALL. IF THE ENGINE FALLS, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
 (c)  Lift the power plant until the mount surfaces are 1.00 inch (25 mm) or less apart. 1) Move the power plant forward, rearward, left, or right, if
 necessary.
 CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL ONLY NEW VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS OR ONES
_______ THAT ARE EXAMINED FOR DAMAGE. IF YOU USE THE OLD VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS, FAILURE OF THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLT CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS ARE THE CORRECT
_______ LENGTH BEFORE YOU INSTALL THEM. IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT VERTICAL TENSION BOLT, DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLT AND NUT CAN OCCUR.
 (d)  Install the vertical tension bolts (1, 2, and 12) in the forward and the aft mount fitting as follows: 1) Lubricate the threads of the vertical tension bolts
 (1 , 2, and 12) with the antiseize compound.

2)  Install the forward vertical tension bolts (1 and 2), countersunk washers (3), barrel nuts (5), and retainer (6) in the fitting on the forward engine mount.
 3)  Install the aft vertical tension bolts (12) and countersunk washers (11) in the aft mount fitting.
