(21) Remove the hold-open equipment (78001-22) for the thrust reverser with the steps that follow (Fig. 402):
(a)
Open the thrust reverser to remove the load on the hold-open equipment (AMM 78-31-00/201).
(b)
Open the thrust reverser to the maximum actuator extension to move the load from the actuator lock (2) to the actuator (1).
(c)
Loosen the knurled-head screw (8) to release the channel clamp (3).
(d)
Move the channel clamp (3) off the actuator rod (5).
(e)
Remove the actuator lock (2) from the actuator (1).

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE FAN COWL PANELS BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE
_______ HOLD-OPEN EQUIPMENT. IF THE FAN COWL PANEL IS NOT HELD, IT CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(22) If it is installed, remove the hold-open equipment (A71030) for the fan cowl with the steps that follow (Fig. 403):
(a)
If the hold-open equipment (A71030) is installed, do the steps that follow: 1) Hold the fan cowl panels. 2) Loosen the screw clamps (2). 3) Remove the hold-open equipment (1).
(b)
If the hold-open equipment (G71023) for the fan and core cowl panels is installed, do the steps that follow:
(c)
Open the thrust reverser to remove the load on the hold-open equipment (AMM 78-31-00/201).
(d)
Remove the forward tube assembly from the fan cowl panel (View A or D) with the steps that follow: 1) Open the fan cowl panel to remove the load on the hold-open
equipment (AMM 71-11-04/201). 2) Remove the lockpin from the pin hole on the thrust reverser tube. 3) Loosen the knobs on the fan cowl tube to disconnect the
forward tube from the fan cowl panel. 4) For the right fan cowl panel, open the fan cowl latch. 5) Disengage the hooks from the loops. 6) Turn the forward tube and remove the forward tube assembly
from the fan cowl panel and the thrust reverser tube.
(e) Remove the aft tube assembly from the core cowl panel (View C or F) with the steps that follow: 1) Open the core cowl panel to remove the load on the
hold-open equipment (AMM 71-11-06/201). 2) Remove the pin from the aft tube and the attachment block. 3) Remove the lockpin from the pin hole on the thrust reverser
tube. 4) Turn and remove the aft tube. 5) For the right core cowl, open the core cowl latch.

6) For the left core cowl panel, remove the pin from the lockhole on the attachment block. 7) Remove the attachment block from the core cowl panel.
(f) Remove the thrust reverser tube from the thrust reversers (View B or E) with the steps that follow: 1) Loosen the knobs on the thrust reverser tube. 2) Remove the thrust reverser tube from the thrust reverser.
