(4)  S 216-021-N00Visually examine the shutoff valves for the HPT and LPT case cooling air to see if they are attached correctly. (a) If the valve is loose, tighten the bolt that holds the valve.
 (5)  S 216-006-N00Visually examine the turbine vane and blade cooling air valves (TVBCA) for cracks. (a) If you find cracks, replace the applicable TVBCA valve (AMM 75-24-01/401).
 (6)  S 216-022-N00Visually examine the TVBCA valves to see if they are attached correctly. (a) If the valves are loose, tighten the bolts that hold the valves.
 (7)  S 216-019-N00Visually examine in the inlet duct for cooling air for the removal of the blank off plate. (a) Make sure the TCC blank off plate is removed.
 NOTE:____ The plate is found between the top support bracket and the inlet duct for the TCC cooling air.
 (8)  S 216-020-N00Visually examine in the inlet duct for cooling air (TCC) to see if the metering plate is used correctly. (a) Make sure the TCC metering plate is removed.
 NOTE:____ The plate is found between the top support bracket and the inlet duct for the TCC cooling air.
 (9)  S 216-044-N00ENGINES WITHOUT PHASE 3; Visually examine the visual position indicator pin on the left TVBCA valve and the position switch of the right TVBCA valve.
 NOTE:____ When the engine stops, the valves are open and the indicator pin extends out.

If one valve is closed at all times, replace the valve (AMM 75-24-01/401).

 NOTE:____Replace the valve as soon as it is possible. This is to permit the airplane to go back to a maintenance base.

 (b)  
If the two valves are closed at all times, do the steps that follow: 1) Look at the CMCS Fault History menu (AMM 45-10-00/201), and

 look for the engine fault message that applies through the <71 POWER PLANT prompt on the menu:
