Do a Check of the TCC Control System S 216-015-N00
(1)
Examine the TCC control system for damaged and defective parts.
(a)
Remove the bolt and the nut. NOTE: The bolt and the nut attach the rod end of the control
____ cable of the TCC air valve to the idler arm. The idler arm is on the air shutoff valve for HPT case cooling.
(b)
Manually pull the rod end of the control cable aft.

If the rod end of the control cable disconnects from the control cable, the shear pin is defective. 1) If it is necessary, replace the control cable
(AMM 75-24-11/401).
(d)
If the control cable or air valve actuator for the TCC does not move, do as follows: 1) Remove the air valve actuator for the TCC
(AMM 75-24-05/401). 2) Use a soft drift and manually push the piston shaft into the actuator. 3) If the piston shaft does not move freely or does not come back, replace the actuator (AMM 75-24-05/401). 4) Manually push and pull the control cable for the full travel. 5) If the control cable does not move freely, replace the control cable (AMM 75-24-11/401). 6) Install the actuator (AMM 75-24-05/401).
(e) Visually examine the adjuster assembly on the air shutoff valves for HPT case cooling and LPT case cooling as follows: 1) Remove the bolts, nuts, and forward bushing which attach the adjuster assembly to the lever arms on the valves. 2) Visually examine the bearings of the adjuster rod end to see if they are worn and move freely. a) If it is necessary, replace the adjuster rod end(s) and
the jamnut(s).
(f) Examine the air shutoff valves for HPT case cooling and LPT case cooling: 1) Turn the lever arms on the valves clockwise to the fully open position. 2) Release the lever arms and make sure the lever arms go back to the fully closed position.
3) If the lever arm does not go back or does not turn freely, replace the applicable valve (AMM 75-24-03/401 or 75-24-04/401).
(g) Replace the idler arm of the air shutoff valve for HPT case cooling as follows if it has worn areas or does not turn freely: 1) Remove the nut which attaches the idler arm to the valve. 2) Remove the idler arm from the valve. 3) Remove the retainer ring and the bearing from the idler arm. 4) If the idler arm, the retaining ring, or the bearing is defective, replace the defective part. 5) Install the bearing and the retaining ring to the idler arm. 6) Remove the nut from the valve shaft. 7) Lubricate the threads of the nut with engine oil. 8) Install the nut on the idler arm.
a) Tighten the nut to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).

(h) Install the adjuster assembly on the air shutoff valves for HPT case cooling and LPT case cooling as follows. 1) Loosen the jamnuts from the rod ends of the adjuster
assembly. 2) Align one rod end with the lever arm hole of the LPT valve. 3) Align the other rod end with the idler arm hole of the HPT
valve.
NOTE: Make sure there is no space between the lever
____ arm and the idler arm while you do this.
4) Make sure you can see the threads of both rod ends through the opening in the adjuster rod.
5) Install the rod ends to the lever arm of the LPT valve and the idler arm of the HPT valve. a) Install the rod ends with bolts, with the threads
