Procedure

(1) If you install a new shutoff valve (1), install the idler arm assembly (12/16) on the valve lever arm with the steps that follow:
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the nut (11) or bearing sleeve assembly (17), as applicable, with Engine Oil.
(b)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 75-136; Install the idler arm assembly (12) on the lever arm as shown in Fig. 401, with the nut (11).
NOTE: Install the control cable and the adjuster during
____ the TCC rig procedure (AMM 75-24-00/501).

(c) ENGINES POST-PW-SB 75-136; Install the idler arm assembly (16) on the lever arm as shown in Fig. 401, with the bearing sleeve assembly (17).
NOTE: Install the control cable and the adjuster during
____ the TCC rig procedure (AMM 75-24-00/501).
(d) Tighten the nut (11) or bearing sleeve assembly (17), as applicable, to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).

If you install a new shutoff valve (1), install the adjuster assembly (10) to the idler arm assembly (12):
(a)
Attach the adjuster assembly (10) with a bolt (5), with the threads lubricated with engine oil, a bushing (8), and a nut (9).
(b)
Tighten the nut to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 N.m).

Install the shutoff valve (1):
(a)
Put the shutoff valve (1) into its position between the upper and the lower support brackets. 1) Point the flow arrows down and align the bolt holes.
(b)
Attach the flange of the shutoff valve (1) and the support link to the upper support bracket: 1) Attach the flange and the support link with the bolts (2
and 15), with the threads lubricated with engine oil, and use the longer bolt (15) at the support link location. 2) Tighten the bolts to 85-95 pound-inches (9.6-10.7 newton-meters).
(c)
Attach the lower valve flange to the lower support bracket with bolts (3), with the threads lubricated with engine oil, and nuts (14):
