Trouble  Possible Cause  Repair 
Engine vibration.  Propeller out of balance. Spinner out of balance. Propeller mounting loose. The spinner attaching screws loose. Blade tracking not correct.  Examine the propeller. If you find damage refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual. Replace the spinner. Tighten the mounting nuts to the correct torque. Refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual. Tighten the attaching screws. Refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual. Refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual. 
Cracks in the blades.  Over-speed.  Refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual. 
Holes/nicks/dents in the blade.  Stone damage.  Repair/replace the propeller. Refer to the manufacturer’s Owners Manual.

Maintenance Practices
1. General
 These maintenance practices tell you how to remove and install the propeller. And they tell you how to do a propeller blade tracking test.
2. Remove/Install the Sensenich 76EM8S10-0-63 Propeller
A. Remove the Propeller

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK ON THE PROPELLER. IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED, THE PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ignition switch to OFF. S Set the throttle to IDLE. S Set the mixture control to LEAN CUT-OFF. 
(2)  Remove the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-12. 
(3)  Disconnect the spark-plug-leads from the spark plugs. 
Note: Mark the propeller, spinner, front support plate and spinner bulkhead, with an index mark. This will help you install these items in the correct position. 
(4)  Remove the spinner: S Mark the spinner and spinner bulkhead with index marks to aid installation. S Release the screws holding the spinner to the spinner bulkhead. S Release the screws holding the spinner to the front support plate and move the spinner clear of the airplane. S Mark the front support plate with an index mark to align with the other index marks.  Refer to Figure 1.

(5)  Cut the lock-wire on the attaching bolts. 
(6)  Remove the special bolts which attach the propeller to the engine flywheel.  Hold the propeller! 
(7)  Pull the propeller forward and clear of the engine flywheel. 

B. Install the Propeller

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK ON THE PROPELLER. IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED, THE PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ignition switch to OFF. S Set the throttle to IDLE. S Set the mixture control to LEAN CUT-OFF. 
(2)  Remove the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-12. 
(3)  Make sure that the spark-plug cables are disconnected from the spark-plugs. 
(4)  Make sure that the engine flywheel, the spacer, the rear bulkhead, the propeller flange and the front bulkhead are clean and dry. 
(5)  Move the propeller into position.  Align the index marks. 
(6)  Install the six special bolts. Turn the bolts in opposing pairs until they are finger tight.  Make sure that the propeller is pushed into the correct position by hand. Do not use the bolts to pull the propeller into position. 
(7)  When the propeller is in the correct position fully tighten the bolts in opposing pairs.  Torque 85 - 90 Nm (63 - 66 ft.lb).
