R R R 4_ If the RAT FAULT warning shows, the pressure switch in the JCMis defective. If necessary, deactivate the warning from the pressure switch as follows:
a_ Disconnect the electrical connector 2455GE-A.
b_ Put a blanking cap on the disconnected electrical connector.
c_ Use a tie-wrap and attach the cable and the electrical connector to an adjacent part of the structure.
R R 5_ If the RAT FAULT indication does not show, the defect isunwanted hydraulic pressure in the "retract" side of the jack. The fault must be repaired before dispatch of the aircraft.
(6) If the red warning light is not on:
(a) Open the cover of the RAT control panel 2815GE.
(b) Press the TEST pushbutton (P/B) and make sure that the red warning light comes on. Release the P/B.
(c) If the red warning light does not come on, repair it and do this procedure from work step (5) (d) 2_ above.
(d) Disconnect the electrical connector 2454GE-C from the ejection jack.
R R NOTE : Make sure that you disconnect the correct connector. There____ are three connectors in the same area. If you disconnect the incorrect connector the RAT will not operate.
R R (e) Look at the ECAM upper DU to see if the RAT FAULT indication shows.
R R R (f) If the RAT FAULT indication does not show, the stow limit switch in the ejection jack is defective. If necessary, deactivate it as follows:
1_ Put a blanking cap on the disconnected electrical connector.
2_ Use a tie-wrap and attach the cable and the electrical connector to an adjacent part of the structure.

R (g) If the RAT FAULT indication still shows after disconnection of
R 2454GE-C, do this procedure:
1_ Disconnect the electrical connector 2027GE-A from the ground
check module (GCM).
2_ If it is installed, remove the SAFETY DEVICE - RAT
(98D29207542000) (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-860-002).
R 3_ Extend the RAT:
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE_______
YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.

R a_ On the overhead panel 40VU, lift the guard and operate the
R RAT MAN ON P/BSW to extend the RAT.
R
R b_ If it is available, install the PROTECTION EQUIPMENT - RAT
R (98D29207550001) on the RAT.
R 4_ Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
R WARNING : KEEP ALL PERSONS AWAY FROM THE AREA WHEN YOU_______
R PRESSURIZE THE BLUE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. WHEN YOU
R PRESSURIZE THE BLUE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, THE RAT CAN
R TURN AT MORE THAN 5000 RPM.
CAUTION : DO NOT OPERATE THE ELECTRIC PUMP OR THE PTU IF THE_______
SUPPLY OF HYDRAULIC FLUID IS NOT SUFFICIENT. MAKE
SURE THAT THE RESERVOIRS HAVE SUFFICIENT AIR
PRESSURE BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE PUMP/PTU.
R
R a_ On the overhead panel 40VU, make sure that the BLUE ELEC
R PUMP P/BSW is set to AUTO (OFF light not on).
R
R b_ On the maintenance panel 50VU, lift the guard and press the
R BLUE PUMP OVRD P/BSW. Make sure that the ON light comes on.
R
R c_ Refer to the ECAM lower DU and make sure that the Blue
