A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING : OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1)
Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2)
Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3)
Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4)
Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
-in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel, - on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(5)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(6)
Make sure that the RAT is extended (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-005). Subtask 29-22-51-865-104
B.
Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Filter Element
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the new packings (5).
(4)
Do a check of the filter element (6) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
(5)
Install the packings (5) on the filter element (6).
(6)
Apply some HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the bypass valve assembly (4).
(7)
Install the bypass valve assembly (4) in the filter element (6).
(8)
Remove the blanking cap from the RAT hydraulic pump housing (7).
(9)
Install the filter element (6) with the bypass valve assembly (4) and the helical compression spring (3) in the RAT hydraulic pump housing (7).
(10)
Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the new packing (2).
(11)
Install the packing (2) on the filter cap (1).
(12)
Install the filter cap (1) in the RAT hydraulic pump housing (7).
(13)
TORQUE the filter cap (1) to between 2.4 and 3.4 m.daN (17.69 and
25.07 lbf.ft). Subtask 29-22-51-865-105
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 2801GE, 2803GE, 6XE

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3)
Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
(4)
Examine the connection of the filter cap (1) and the RAT hydraulic pump housing (7) and make sure that there is no leak.
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU

EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.
(5)
Retract the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(6)
Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
